Luglio, che per la città è tradizionalmente mese di festività laiche e religiose, offrirà quest’anno un calendario diffuso tra incontri, mostre, festival e nuovi spazi, come un grande laboratorio culturale all’aria aperta.

Tra gli appuntamenti più attesi figura il dialogo tra i libri e gli eventi cittadini maggiori. Come il Pistoia Blues Festival, giunto alla 45esima edizione, che ospiterà incontri dedicati alla letteratura musicale con autori e giornalisti specializzati, o Eurogym 2026, la grande manifestazione europea non competitiva di ginnastica giovanile, che dall’8 al 17 luglio prevederà anche sette incontri di promozione della lettura in altrettante lingue.

L’estate dei libri raggiungerà anche le frazioni attraverso il ciclo Leggere, raccontare e incontrarsi d’estate, pensato per intercettare nuovi pubblici e portare la lettura anche nei territori più decentrati.

A rafforzare questa presenza contribuirà l’installazione di nuove casette dei libri, che porteranno a dieci il numero complessivo delle strutture attivate dall’inizio dell’anno.

Prosegue inoltre il coinvolgimento delle librerie cittadine, che continueranno a ospitare presentazioni, gruppi di lettura e attività rivolte a tutte le età.

Tra i risultati già raggiunti spicca lo stanziamento di 80mila euro per l’acquisto di libri per le biblioteche scolastiche, con migliaia di nuovi volumi che saranno messi a disposizione di studentesse e studenti.

Nel calendario trova spazio anche la mostra C’è moda e moda, ospitata nella Sala Gatteschi della Biblioteca Forteguerriana dal 2 luglio al 30 settembre. L’esposizione propone un percorso tra documenti storici, abiti, accessori e ricami che raccontano l’evoluzione del costume pistoiese tra Settecento e Novecento.

Ad accompagnare il pubblico sarà anche il nuovo format radiofonico Pistoia Capitale 2026, condotto da Alessandro Giuntoli su Radio Diffusione Pistoia. Il programma sarà dedicato ad anticipazioni, interviste e approfondimenti e sarà disponibile anche in podcast.

L’iniziativa propone una selezione di materiali che spaziano dal Settecento al Novecento, con particolare attenzione alle pubblicazioni dedicate alla moda tra Ottocento e Novecento. Ad arricchire il percorso espositivo saranno anche i cosiddetti dipinti ad ago, raffinati tessuti ricamati provenienti dal Museo del Ricamo di Pistoia, insieme ad alcuni costumi realizzati per le sfilate storiche della Giostra dell’Orso.

La mostra è articolata in 12 sezioni, ognuna dedicata a una diversa interpretazione del tema della moda. Il filo conduttore è rappresentato dal lavoro artigianale che trasforma filati e tessuti in abiti, accessori e opere decorative, mettendo in luce il valore della manualità e della cura delle creazioni nel tempo.

L’esposizione vuole esprimere soprattutto questo: cucire, tessere, ricamare, rammendare e lavorare a maglia sono anche modi per narrare e tramandare. Un archivio tessile privato, intimo, può restituire una memoria storica collettiva e, contemporaneamente, valorizzare la creatività delle modiste e delle ricamatrici pistoiesi.

L’inaugurazione sarà a ingresso libero, fino a esaurimento dei posti disponibili.

La mostra sarà visitabile negli orari di apertura della Biblioteca Forteguerriana: dal lunedì al venerdì dalle 9 alle 13,30, mentre il martedì e il giovedì sarà aperta anche nel pomeriggio, dalle 15 alle 17,30. Phase I results provide platform-level validation supporting AdJane’s broader development programs in pandemic preparedness, respiratory infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance 

DELFT, Netherlands, July 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — AdJane, a clinical-stage vaccine platform company developing intranasal and intramuscular vaccines based on native Outer Membrane Vesicles (nOMVs), today announces the publication of first-in-human Phase I clinical data in the peer-reviewed journal Vaccines, demonstrating the ability of its proprietary nOMV platform to induce both mucosal and systemic immune responses in humans. 

The first-in-human randomized, double-blind, placebo- and OMV-controlled trial in 40 healthy adults demonstrated that AdJane’s platform, combined with a SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein and administered intranasally, was safe and well tolerated and induced both systemic and mucosal immune responses. The combination triggered dose-dependent systemic immune responses across multiple measures, including virus-neutralizing antibodies. Importantly, the study showed induction of immune activity at the nasal mucosa — the primary entry site for many respiratory pathogens. 

The findings provide clinical proof-of-concept for AdJane’s nOMV platform and support its broader application across respiratory pathogens, pandemic preparedness scenarios, and other infectious disease targets currently under development.

This gap reduces the ability of conventional vaccines to limit person-to-person spread. 

Mucosal vaccination approaches aim to address this limitation by generating immune responses directly at the site of pathogen entry, while also inducing broader systemic protection. As interest in transmission-blocking immunity and pandemic preparedness strategies continues to grow globally, mucosal vaccination is increasingly recognized as an important emerging modality in vaccine development.

Lab deepens Reju’s scientific capabilities, bridging innovation with commercial-scale solutions 

PARIS and CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., July 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Reju, the textile-to-textile materials regeneration company, today announced that it had opened a Research & Development Center in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, marking the company’s first dedicated research facility in North America. Located within Technip Energy’s Advanced Materials and Catalysts’ existing research center, the lab will help Reju accelerate the deployment of its recycling technologies and will help develop Reju’s next-generation circular solutions. 

The R&D Center marks the relocation of Reju’s core research team from IBM’s Almaden Research Center in San Jose, California, where Reju’s Volcat depolymerizaztion technology, a catalytic chemical recycling method breaking down polyester into reusable raw materials, was first developed. 

“I am excited to be joining such an innovative company and to be part of the team moving the technology towards industrialization and supporting the infrastructure for true post-consumer textile-to-textile recycling at scale,” said Gregory Breyta, Reju’s Director of Research & Development. 

The facility will be focused on the full development spectrum, from early-stage feasibility through to kilo-scale production. It will span polyester recycling, mixed-fabric solutions, and new circular chemistry pathways, enabling rapid iteration and accelerating Reju’s path from concept to industrial reality. The new R&D center will support the development and validation of technologies intended for deployment across Reju’s future Regeneration Hubs. 

By locating the facility within Technip Energies’ existing research infrastructure, Reju will benefit from direct access to decades of Technip Energies’ expertise in catalysis, process development, technology integration and industrial scale-up. 

The establishment of the R&D Center is a component of Reju’s broader strategy to build a closed-loop recycling ecosystem that converts discarded fabric and textiles back into quality products. The center joins Reju’s growing global infrastructure, including their first textile-to-textile facility Regeneration Hub Zero in Frankfurt, Germany and future Regeneration Hubs that have been announced in Sittard (Netherlands), Lacq (France), and Rochester, New York (USA).

Milano, 1 luglio 2026 – Nel comparto dell’hotellerie, la reputazione è un asset intangibile ma dal valore economico inestimabile.  

La presenza di infestanti all’interno di una struttura ricettiva rappresenta una delle minacce più severe per la continuità aziendale e l’immagine del brand. Nell’era digitale, in cui l’esperienza dell’ospite viene istantaneamente condivisa su piattaforme di recensione e canali social, il riscontro anche di un singolo esemplare può innescare una crisi d’immagine di proporzioni devastanti. Il danno reputazionale si traduce immediatamente in un calo verticale delle prenotazioni, con ripercussioni finanziarie a lungo termine che superano di gran lunga i costi di una corretta prevenzione. 

Oltre all’impatto commerciale, il quadro legislativo impone rigidi standard di sicurezza biologica. Le strutture alberghiere, in particolare quelle dotate di servizi di ristorazione e banchettistica, sono soggette alle normative europee sull’igiene degli alimenti (Regolamento CE 852/2004) e all’obbligo di applicazione dei protocolli HACCP.  

Pertanto, l’igiene nelle strutture ricettive non deve essere intesa come un mero adempimento formale, ma come un pilastro fondamentale della gestione del rischio biologico.  

Per implementare strategie di controllo realmente efficaci, è fondamentale comprendere a fondo l’etologia e la fisiologia degli infestanti target. Tra le specie sinantrope che più frequentemente colonizzano le strutture ricettive urbane, la minaccia principale è rappresentata dal
topo
, una specie caratterizzata da un’incredibile capacità di adattamento e penetrazione negli spazi interni. Il Mus musculus, comunemente noto come topo domestico, possiede caratteristiche biologiche che lo rendono un avversario estremamente insidioso per i gestori di hotel e strutture ricettive. 

Questo piccolo mammifero presenta uno scheletro estremamente flessibile e l’assenza di clavicole rigide, caratteristiche che gli consentono di attraversare varchi millimetrici: qualsiasi fessura o foro superiore ai 6 millimetri (la dimensione del diametro di una matita) è sufficiente per permetterne il passaggio. Dal punto di vista comportamentale, il topo domestico è un animale spiccatamente curioso rispetto ai nuovi oggetti nel suo territorio, ma estremamente cauto nelle sue rotte di spostamento, che avvengono quasi sempre lungo i perimetri delle pareti sfruttando la tigmotassi (il contatto fisico con le superfici verticali per orientarsi). 

Le sue abitudini alimentari sono onnivore, sebbene prediliga semi e cereali; tuttavia, all’interno di un hotel, può nutrirsi di qualsiasi residuo organico disponibile nelle cucine, nei magazzini o persino nei cestini dei rifiuti delle camere degli ospiti. La sua eccezionale resistenza alla disidratazione gli consente di sopravvivere ricavando l’acqua necessaria direttamente dai cibi solidi consumati. Questo comportamento rende la specie indipendente dalle fonti d’acqua dirette, facilitando la sua nidificazione all’interno di intercapedini, controsoffitti, pavimenti galleggianti e canali di distribuzione degli impianti tecnologici (elettrici e di condizionamento), dove trova un microclima ideale e protezione dai predatori. 

La presenza di roditori non costituisce soltanto un problema estetico o di decoro, ma configura una vera e propria emergenza di salute pubblica a causa dei gravi rischi sanitari roditori associati.  

I piccoli roditori sono noti vettori biologici di numerosi agenti patogeni trasmissibili all’uomo, sia direttamente – attraverso il contatto con feci, urina e saliva – sia indirettamente, tramite ectoparassiti come pulci, zecche e acari che abbandonano l’ospite roditore per colonizzare l’ambiente circostante. 

Tra le patologie più rilevanti dal punto di vista epidemiologico figurano la Salmonellosi, causata dalla contaminazione batterica di alimenti e superfici di lavoro nelle cucine; la Leptospirosi, trasmessa principalmente attraverso il contatto con urina infetta; e diverse forme di coriomeningite linfocitaria (LCMV) e infezioni da Hantavirus, che possono essere contratte anche per via inalatoria attraverso l’aerosolizzazione di polveri contaminate da escrementi secchi durante le operazioni di pulizia ordinaria. 

Accanto al rischio biologico, non va sottovalutato il potenziale distruttivo di natura meccanica. I roditori possiedono incisivi a crescita continua che li costringono a un’incessante attività di rosicchiamento per limitarne la lunghezza. All’interno di una struttura alberghiera, questa necessità si traduce in danni strutturali sistematici, come il danneggiamento dei cablaggi elettrici, la compromissione dei sistemi di isolamento e danni a impianti idraulici. 

Nel moderno pest management, l’approccio reattivo basato esclusivamente sull’applicazione di formulati chimici è superato da una visione olistica e preventiva. Il pilastro fondamentale di questa strategia è il pest proofing, ovvero l’insieme di interventi mirati all’esclusione fisica infestanti per impedire l’accesso dei roditori all’interno degli edifici. Progettare e mantenere barriere fisiche invalicabili rappresenta l’unico metodo sostenibile per garantire una difesa a lungo termine, riducendo la necessità di ricorrere a trattamenti biocidi massivi. 

Il processo di pest-proofing richiede un’ispezione tecnica approfondita della struttura, volta a identificare i punti di vulnerabilità architettonica. I passaggi di tubazioni idrauliche, cavi elettrici e condotti di aerazione devono essere sigillati ermeticamente utilizzando materiali resistenti ai denti dei roditori, come reti in acciaio inox a maglia stretta (inferiore a 5 mm), lana d’acciaio professionale o sigillanti poliuretanici additivati con particelle metalliche o di vetro. 

Le porte esterne, in particolare quelle delle zone di carico/scarico merci e delle cucine, devono essere dotate di spazzole sottoporta in metallo rigido (ghigliottine) per azzerare la luce da terra. Le finestre e le prese d’aria devono essere protette da reti antiroditore robuste. Infine, i giunti di dilatazione degli edifici, i controsoffitti e i pavimenti tecnici devono essere compartimentati per evitare che si trasformino in vie di transito interne per i roditori. 

Queste misure di esclusione fisica non devono essere considerate elementi isolati, ma devono integrarsi sinergicamente all’interno di un piano di monitoraggio e controllo professionale. La combinazione tra una struttura meccanicamente protetta e un monitoraggio costante consente di intercettare tempestivamente qualsiasi tentativo di intrusione, garantendo i massimi standard di sicurezza e igiene richiesti dal settore dell’hotellerie d’eccellenza.

Lʼedizione 2026 dell’Estate di Shanghai – Stagione Internazionale dei Consumi (Shanghai Summer – International Consumption Season) si svolgerà da luglio a ottobre, attraversando alcuni dei principali periodi festivi dell’anno, dalle vacanze estive alla Festa di Metà Autunno e alla Festa Nazionale.
