Il percorso dedicato alla memoria degli Internati Militari Italiani proseguirà domenica 20 settembre, Giornata degli Internati italiani nei campi di concentramento tedeschi durante la Seconda guerra mondiale. Alle 11, in piazza della Resistenza, si terrà la cerimonia di inaugurazione del cippo dedicato agli IMI, promossa dal Cudir-Comitato Unitario per la Difesa delle Istituzioni Repubblicane del Comune di Pistoia. Al termine sarà deposta, poi, una corona al primo binario della stazione ferroviaria, davanti alla lapide che ricorda i deportati nei lager nazisti.

“La scelta dei tanti militari italiani che dopo l’8 settembre 1943 dissero “no” al nazifascismo rappresenta una pagina fondamentale della nostra storia – ricorda il sindaco Giovanni Capecchi. La vicenda degli Internati Militari Italiani ci dimostra che la Resistenza non si è combattuta solo con le armi, ma anche con la tenacia della coscienza, la dignità e la forza degli ideali. Sottoposti a privazioni e lavori forzati nei campi del Terzo Reich, gli Internati Militari Italiani opposero un rifiuto fermo al nazifascismo. La loro fu una Resistenza civile e morale, combattuta senza violenza, che ha anch’essa contribuito alla nascita della nostra democrazia e della Costituzione. Ricordare il loro sacrificio significa ribadire che la libertà e la pace si costruiscono ogni giorno con la coerenza e la partecipazione di tutte le persone”.

Il convegno

L’incontro in Sala Maggiore sarà dedicato, dunque, ai militari italiani che, dopo l’armistizio dell’8 settembre 1943, rifiutarono di aderire alla Repubblica Sociale Italiana o di collaborare con l’esercito tedesco e furono deportati nei campi di prigionia del Terzo Reich. Privati dello status di prigionieri di guerra e classificati come Internati Militari Italiani, gli IMI vissero mesi, e spesso anni, di internamento, lavori forzati, fame e privazioni. Il loro rifiuto di collaborare viene oggi riconosciuto come una forma di Resistenza civile e morale, combattuta senza armi ma non per questo meno significativa.

L’iniziativa intende approfondire, quindi, questa vicenda da diversi punti di vista: storico, territoriale e memoriale, mettendo in luce anche il lungo percorso che ha portato al riconoscimento del loro ruolo nella storia della Resistenza italiana.

Ad aprire i lavori sarà Rosalba Bonacchi, presidente del Comitato provinciale Anpi di Pistoia, che introdurrà il pomeriggio di studi. Seguiranno i saluti istituzionali.

Il programma prevede, poi, quattro interventi affidati a storici e studiosi della materia. Il primo sarà quello di Marco Pluviano, storico militare e saggista, che analizzerà la situazione degli eserciti italiani alla data dell’8 settembre 1943, ricostruendo il contesto militare e politico nel quale maturò la scelta di migliaia di soldati italiani.

In collegamento online interverrà Paolo Pezzino, già professore ordinario di Storia contemporanea e già presidente dell’Istituto nazionale Ferruccio Parri, con una relazione dedicata a “La Resistenza degli Internati Militari Italiani nel quadro della Resistenza italiana. Il tardivo riconoscimento: storia e ragioni”. Il suo contributo offrirà una lettura nazionale del ruolo degli IMI e delle ragioni che hanno ritardato il pieno riconoscimento della loro esperienza.

Lo sguardo si sposterà quindi sul territorio con Claudio Rosati, storico e saggista, che parlerà degli Internati Militari Italiani nella provincia di Pistoia e del progetto delle Pietre d’inciampo, il percorso di memoria che restituisce un nome e una storia alle persone deportate.

Chiuderà la serie degli interventi Enrico Bettazzi, storico militare e saggista, con la presentazione della mostra documentaria allestita nel Palazzo comunale.

Le conclusioni saranno affidate nuovamente a Rosalba Bonacchi.

Al termine del convegno sarà possibile partecipare a una visita guidata alla mostra documentaria, curata da Enrico Bettazzi. L’esposizione, che sarà visitabile fino a domenica 27 settembre, raccoglie materiali dedicati agli Internati Militari Italiani: documenti originali, fotografie, tessere identificative, testimonianze e altri contenuti che raccontano la vita nei campi di internamento e il percorso vissuto dai soldati italiani deportati dopo l’8 settembre 1943.

Curata da Catherine Nichols, la 18ª edizione porta i visitatori in un viaggio attraverso la città e il suo territorio più ampio, che comprende importanti siti espositivi, musei, luoghi patrimoniali e spazi inaspettati. 

Nel cuore di questa edizione, Les Grandes Locos, sede principale della Biennale, ospita una parte importante della mostra. Il viaggio prosegue in altri dieci sedi, tra cui il Museo d’Arte Contemporanea di Lione (macLYON), il Museo delle Belle Arti di Lione, il Musée des Tissus, che riapre eccezionalmente le sue porte per la Biennale, e il parcheggio LPA Saint-Antoine.

La 18ª Biennale d’Arte Contemporanea di Lione esplora le connessioni umane al centro dell’economia. Cuarata della storica dell’arte e saggista Catherine Nichols, questa edizione prosegue un percorso di ricerca legato ai suoi studi sulla creatività e sulla trasformazione sociale. Women lead 8.6% of companies on the list, with 43 female CEOs. This is the highest number for the Fortune 500 Europe since its launch in 2023 

LONDON, Sept. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Today, Fortune unveiled the Fortune 500 Europe ranking for 2026, highlighting the continent’s top companies. The launch will be marked at the bell opening of the London Stock Exchange. Volkswagen maintains its lead position, with revenues up 3%, widening the gap with Shell, whose revenues fell 5% last year. 

For the first time in the list’s four-year history, Germany no longer contributes the most companies to the list. The UK takes the lead with 76 companies, followed by Germany with 73 and France with 66. 

Profit growth returned to the Fortune 500 Europe companies after a 5% decline the previous year, with profits increasing by 3% to just over $1 trillion. Overall, revenues grew by 4% to $15.5 trillion, equivalent to half of the region’s GDP and 13% of world GDP. The overall profit margin shrank again, to 6.5%, down from the high of 7.1% for the 2024 list. Cost control is reflected in the combined employment figure for the 500, which shrank by 1% to 34.6 million, pushing up revenue per employee by 5% and profit per employee by 4%. 

At the top, Volkswagen reported $363 billion in revenue, while FMS Wertmanagement Group closes the list at #500 with $7.4 billion, pushing the list’s lower threshold to over $7 billion for the first time. HSBC again tops profits, with over $22 billion in 2025 – one of only 25 firms over $10 billion. 

The number of women CEOs has risen further to 43, the highest for Fortune 500 Europe, and total revenues for women-led firms increased by 24% to $1.2 billion. Some 8.6% of companies are led by women – fewer than one in ten and below the 11% representation in the U.S.-based Fortune 500. BP (#4), led by Meg O’Neill, is the only woman-led company in the top 10, and with Engie (#39), one of two in the top 50.

Financial services is the largest sector in the list, responsible for 24% of revenue, 40% of profits, and 14% of employees. Financial services, energy, and motor vehicles & parts together account for over half of all revenues and profits on the list, and dominate the top 10. Shell, Glencore, BP, and TotalEnergies claim four of the top five spots. Germany’s industrial strength is reflected via Volkswagen (#1), BMW (#7), and Mercedes-Benz (#8). The UK’s strong energy presence secures two of the top five spots, and France leads with the most workers across its 66 companies.

Secondo quanto riferito dalla residente, nonostante le segnalazioni effettuate, fino a questo momento non sarebbe stato eseguito un intervento risolutivo.

“Non sono venuti ad aggiustarla – prosegue –. Oltre ad essere un disagio per chi ci vive è un grandissimo spreco di acqua”.

È proprio la quantità di acqua che continuerebbe a disperdersi a preoccupare maggiormente la cittadina, che ha deciso di rendere pubblica la situazione dopo i tentativi di sollecitare un intervento.

La donna solleva anche interrogativi sui costi legati alla dispersione: “Non si sa chi pagherà e come verrà pagata questa quantità di acqua sprecata”.

La residente conclude spiegando le ragioni che l’hanno portata a segnalare pubblicamente il problema: “Mi sono sentita di fare questa denuncia perché mi sembra una cosa scandalosa che si sprechi così tanta acqua”.

La richiesta è dunque quella di un intervento che possa individuare l’origine della perdita e interrompere una dispersione che, stando alla testimonianza della residente, prosegue ormai da oltre venti giorni.

UN UNIVERSO MECCANICO IN MOVIMENTO 

L’MP-14 Origin by Jeff Koons è una fusione ipnotica tra alta orologeria e arte visionaria. Incarna l’essenza stessa di Hublot come laboratorio sperimentale dell’orologeria, guidato da concetti meccanici radicali, materiali all’avanguardia e approcci non convenzionali al tempo. L’MP-14 Origin by Jeff Koons riflette la costante volontà del marchio di trasformare i limiti in traguardi, dalla maestria nella lavorazione dello zaffiro allo sviluppo del suo primo tourbillon centrale automatico in grado di sostenere questa architettura cinetica su più livelli, supportata da un sistema di massa oscillante periferica che garantisce stabilità ed efficienza energetica. 

A prima vista, l’MP-14 Origin by Jeff Koons sembra futuristico. È dotato di cassa ottagonale da 44 mm in zaffiro e titanio, il cui aspetto è definito da trasparenza e profondità, tanto quanto la struttura definisce il movimento. La cassa è una scatola ottagonale in zaffiro trasparente, che richiede circa 534 ore di lavorazione meccanica. È assemblata con fondello in titanio, viti e le caratteristiche “orecchie” di Hublot a ore 3 e 9. All’interno, l’orologio si presenta come un sistema gravitazionale. Anelli concentrici in oro bianco, impreziositi da diamanti taglio baguette e zaffiri blu, formano strati orbitali. Questi strati convergono verso un nucleo centrale. Sotto una cupola in zaffiro trasparente ispirata alle Gazing Ball di Koons, rivestita a mano con vernice blu traslucida da un micropittore, il tourbillon centrale nascosto diventa il punto di origine del sistema. È il “primo impulso” meccanico da cui l’intera struttura sembra espandersi.  

Due anelli rotanti sospesi indicano le ore e i minuti; ciascuno di essi è dotato di un cubo indicatore fluttuante – in acciaio inox lucido verniciato con una lacca rossa traslucida per le ore e in acciaio inox lucido grigio per i minuti – che sembra orbitare all’interno della struttura. Al di sopra di anelli concentrici impreziositi da diamanti con taglio baguette, questi elementi sembrano fluttuare sospesi, evocando le orbite celesti in una danza ipnotica. I due anelli aggiuntivi sono fissi e non ruotano: l’anello dei minuti è impreziosito da zaffiri blu che segnano i quarti d’ora, mentre l’anello delle ore è impreziosito da zaffiri blu che indicano le ore. I quattro anelli, nel loro insieme, vantano un totale di 202 pietre, per circa 2,6 carati. 

Il cuore del sistema è il movimento di manifattura HUB9014: un tourbillon centrale automatico con massa oscillante periferica, con frequenza di 3 Hz (21.600 alternanze/ora) e una riserva di carica di 60 ore, composto da 594 componenti. La massa periferica sostituisce la tradizionale struttura a carica centrale, consentendo al sistema di rimanere completamente aperto, equilibrato e visivamente sospeso. La gabbia del tourbillon è posizionata come un elemento antigravitazionale sospeso sotto la cupola in zaffiro, trasformando così la regolazione meccanica in un movimento cosmico visibile. Questo sistema si estende dalla cassa in un continuum: il bracciale è interamente realizzato in zaffiro con viti in titanio, creando così una transizione omogenea dalla cassa al polso. Nell’architettura sono integrate due funzioni nascoste (sistemi a corona a scomparsa) che consentono la carica e la regolazione dell’ora senza compromettere la purezza del design. Il sistema di carica è visibile nel punto in cui è inciso “ENERGY PULSE” e la regolazione dell’ora è indicata dalla dicitura: “COSMIC ALIGN”. 

L’orologio non raffigura un universo, ma si comporta come se lo fosse. È uno spazio in movimento, costruito per racchiudere il tempo nel momento stesso in cui nasce. Il cofanetto è concepito come un’installazione di specchi infiniti, che utilizza l’illuminazione a LED e la tecnica dello specchio unidirezionale per creare un senso di profondità illimitata e una percezione sospesa. L’opera Balloon Dog (1994-2000) di Jeff Koons, appartenente alla serie Celebration nata a metà degli anni ’90, prende un oggetto universalmente familiare – l’animale realizzato con un palloncino – e lo trasforma in qualcosa di permanente. IL CLASSIC FUSION: MODELLATO DALL’ARIA 

Ogni elemento del Classic Fusion Balloon Dog da 42 mm è stato riprogettato secondo il linguaggio visivo di Jeff Koons. L’architettura tradizionalmente elegante del Classic Fusion è stata trasformata usando geometrie dilatate, morbide superfici bombate e linee convesse per creare l’illusione di un orologio modellato dalla pressione dell’aria. Il risultato è giocoso, irriverente e molto sofisticato dal punto di vista tecnico, una fusione di alta orologeria e artigianalità che dà vita a un’estetica che risulta naturale e spontanea nella sua realizzazione. 

Ispirato all’iconico Balloon Dog riflettente di Koons, l’orologio reinterpreta il Classic Fusion attraverso un linguaggio coerente fatto di forme arrotondate e volumi pieni d’aria. Per creare questa sensazione di volume e tensione, diversi elementi hanno assunto una conformazione bombata e sono stati rimodellati, dal vetro zaffiro alle teste delle viti in titanio, passando per la struttura convessa e ‘vaporosa’ del quadrante e l’architettura scultorea della cassa. Ogni superficie è stata rielaborata per preservare l’illusione di una pressione interna, che si estende attraverso il cinturino in pelle metallizzata, morbido e imbottito e i punti di fissaggio smussati. PRIMO TEMPO

Come aveva annunciato nella conferenza stampa pre partita, Bisoli schiera la Pistoiese con qualche cambio rispetto alla partita di domenica, mantenendo però lo stesso schema tattico. Debutto per Calia dal primo minuto, Contini al posto di Saporetti che parte dalla panchina.

Inizia subito forte la formazione di casa, che vede Motti sfiorare il gol di testa, su suggerimento dalla destra di Campagna, dopo appena un minuto di gioco; gli ospiti non mollano e, su un ribaltamento di fronte, vanno vicini al pareggio con una conclusione mancina in area di rigore sulla quale Giuliani si fa trovare pronto.

Ritmi subito alti, tanto che al quarto minuto c’è già la prima sliding door partita. Motti si invola in solitaria verso la porta avversaria in seguito ad un retropassaggio sbilenco della difesa avversaria, il rimbalzo del pallone sorprende il portiere Costant che si fa superare dal numero 9 prima di stenderlo e di concedere un calcio di rigore sacrosanto. Purtroppo, però, il centravanti arancione spara alto sopra la traversa e le due squadre rimangono sullo 0-0.

Passano i minuti e gli arancioni, forti dell’uomo in più, continuano a mantenere il possesso del pallone, ma un susseguirsi di errori tecnici – dovuti probabilmente al nervosismo per la grande occasione fallita – suscita le apprensioni di mister Bisoli. Dopo qualche minuto di comprensibile sbandamento Motti sembra riprendersi e prima, al 21′, troverebbe il gol del vantaggio, poi annullato per fuorigioco, e in seguito impegna Bochicchio con una bella conclusione del limite.

I padroni di casa riescono pian piano ad acquisire il ritmo gara giusto e trovano il vantaggio alla mezzora con Campagna, abile a calciare da fuori area alla sinistra del portiere. Nemmeno 10 minuti dopo è Rossi a trovare il raddoppio con un bel colpo di testa sugli sviluppi di un calcio d’angolo battuto da Lagomarsino. Senza ulteriori sussulti, il primo tempo si conclude con il doppio vantaggio arancione.

SECONDO TEMPO

Inizia la ripresa e non cambia il leitmotiv della gara: la Pistoiese, che attacca sotto la Nord, ha il controllo totale del pallone e trova il tris con una bellissima girata di testa di Motti, che chiude il suo personale conto con la sfortuna.

La Pistoiese dilaga, ancora con Rossi, ancora su colpo di testa, per il 4-0 Orange. A mezzora dal termine i padroni di casa giocano ormai sul velluto, solo una conclusione di Tirapelle regala un piccolo sussulto alla panchina dell’Arconatese.

Campagna va vicino alla doppietta con un’altra conclusione da fuori, Saporetti ha due occasioni per la cinquina nel giro di pochissimi secondi, ma l’episodio da segnalare è il ritorno in campo del figliol prodigo di Pistoia, Federico Russo, che entra al posto di un ottimo Contini.

I minuti finali scorrono in scioltezza, con gli Orange in totale amministrazione e l’Arconatese, comunque costretta all’inferiorità numerica dai primissimi minuti, a cercare di limitare i danni, senza però riuscirci. A pochi secondi dal fischio finale Luoni commette fallo da calcio di rigore, Russo trasforma per il 5-0 finale ed esulta con tutta la squadra sotto la curva tra la commozione dei presenti.

Domenica ho chiesto scusa a Calia che non è entrato in campo pur avendo i genitori in tribuna, sono moto attento a queste cose, oggi l’ho fatto giocare. Permettetemi di dire che il ritorno in campo e al gol di Russo, che ha rischiato di non poter più giocare: abbiamo scritto una bella pagina di sport“.

Capita spesso che la sostenibilità venga descritta come una faccenda di grandi investimenti (pannelli sul tetto e auto elettrica) e la conseguenza sia una specie di paralisi collettiva: chi non dispone né di budget né di metri quadrati si sente fuori dal discorso e archivia l’argomento.  

Le rilevazioni europee sui consumi domestici raccontano però una realtà ben più ordinaria, in cui una quota consistente degli sprechi nasce da gesti ripetuti ogni giorno e quasi mai percepiti come decisioni. La temperatura impostata sulla lavatrice, l’ordine con cui si svuota il frigorifero, la lista scritta prima di uscire di casa, il coperchio dimenticato accanto ai fornelli.  

Presi singolarmente sembrano dettagli trascurabili, ma moltiplicati per trecentosessantacinque giorni e per milioni di famiglie diventano la porzione di problema su cui si ha davvero presa. 

Poco più di mezzo chilo di cibo a testa ogni settimana finisce nella pattumiera delle case italiane, secondo le rilevazioni dell’osservatorio Waste Watcher, e la causa quasi mai sta nella distrazione pura.  

Molto più di frequente c’entra un acquisto sovradimensionato rispetto alle abitudini reali della famiglia, oppure una gestione approssimativa degli spazi refrigerati, dove le confezioni aperte finiscono in fondo e riemergono quando ormai non sono più recuperabili.  

La spesa, in altre parole, decide gran parte dello spreco prima ancora che la borsa venga svuotata sul tavolo della cucina. 

Esistono strategie veloci che abbattono in modo tangibile la quantità di cibo che finisce nella spazzatura: 

Resta poi la confusione diffusa tra le diciture “da consumare entro” e “da consumare preferibilmente entro”, due formule con implicazioni molto diverse (la prima riguarda la sicurezza alimentare, la seconda soltanto una possibile perdita di qualità) che ogni anno mandano al macero quantità enormi di prodotti ancora commestibili.

Il riscaldamento assorbe da solo la maggior parte dei consumi di un’abitazione italiana, mentre la quota restante si distribuisce tra elettrodomestici, acqua calda sanitaria, illuminazione e piccoli apparecchi sempre sotto tensione.  

La conseguenza pratica è che intervenire sulle lampadine mentre il termostato segna ventitré gradi somiglia parecchio a svuotare una vasca con un cucchiaio. Le voci davvero pesanti sono poche e conviene partire da lì, prima di dedicarsi alla rifinitura. 

Un paio di interventi a costo zero incidono sulla bolletta più di quanto suggerisca l’intuito: 

Sul fronte degli acquisti non alimentari il nodo si sposta sulla durata. Un capo indossato trenta volte invece di cinque abbatte la propria impronta per singolo utilizzo in modo puramente aritmetico, senza bisogno di certificazioni particolari, e lo stesso ragionamento vale per un elettrodomestico riparato al posto di essere sostituito al primo guasto.  

La riparazione ha del resto ripreso terreno grazie ai laboratori di quartiere e alle piattaforme di ricambi, e in diverse regioni esistono contributi per gli interventi su lavatrici e piccoli apparecchi domestici. 

Per l’acqua vale lo stesso principio. Un frangigetto costa pochi euro, può ridurre il flusso quasi della metà e nessuno si accorge della differenza mentre si lava le mani; una doccia accorciata di due minuti libera decine di litri al giorno in una famiglia di quattro persone. Nessuno di tali gesti cambia da solo il bilancio ambientale di un condominio, però tutti insieme spostano un consumo domestico verso una soglia più ragionevole. 

La differenza tra un proposito e un’abitudine sta nella quantità di attenzione richiesta. Finché un comportamento va ricordato ogni volta, prima o poi salta; quando invece si incastra in una routine già esistente (la lista appesa allo sportello, la ciabatta spenta insieme alla luce della cucina), sopravvive anche alle settimane storte. Meglio cambiare poche cose alla volta e lasciarle sedimentare, perché la sostenibilità domestica somiglia meno a una conversione improvvisa e molto di più a una manutenzione paziente.

From September, 24 briefs on MakerWorld will ask the makers to invent accessibility aids you can print and put in someone’s hands 

AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Bambu Lab, together with seven leading accessibility organizations that use 3D printing, today launched a global design challenge on MakerWorld, the world’s largest community of makers who design, share, download, and print 3D models. From September through December 2026, 24 briefs from the seven partners will invite designers and 3D-printer users worldwide to create objects someone can pick up and actually use.  

Bambu Lab will host the challenge on MakerWorld, its vibrant community of makers and free library of 3D models. Hardware stopped being the main barrier years ago, after Bambu Lab lowered the barrier to 3D printing with its highly accessible printers. MakerWorld has become the largest community of 3D makers. This is the first time MakerWorld is mobilizing its community of designers to work with people with disabilities on specific, everyday needs. 

The program is built around concrete, everyday needs. Jessica Cox, founder of Rightfooted Foundation International, was born without arms and uses her feet for daily life. She can pull on her first sock with a bare foot. The second sock is the problem: once one foot is covered, she loses the friction she needs to get fabric over her heel. She can scoop her service dog’s waste, then has no clean way to carry it without holding the bag under her chin. Fastening a bike helmet still means sitting on the floor and lining up two small buckle halves by feel, one foot planted for balance. 

At the Emerging Tech Lab at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center, similar everyday challenges help drive the identification, development, and fabrication of customized solutions. Working directly with people with disabilities and rehabilitation professionals, the ETL uses 3D printing and digital fabrication methods to create practical tools that address individual needs. For example, picking up an item from the floor can be difficult when a conventional reacher requires squeezing a handle to operate it. People who use wheelchairs may also have difficulty storing, accessing, and retrieving everyday items such as phones, wallets, purses, and keys. These everyday situations can inspire makers to create simple solutions that make a meaningful difference.  

Other briefs stay in the kitchen, the bathroom, and the things people do for pleasure. Ayúdame3D is requesting a toothbrush that does not have to be pinched, a tool for tying a ponytail with one hand. E-Nable France challenges makers to develop a one-hand kitchen toolkit. Neil Squire Society’s Makers Making Change is requesting a knitting-needle support for people who have had a stroke, a guitar pick that stays in place with limited grip, and a marker-cap aid a teacher can use alone. PrintLab is requesting a tabletop game that a child with cerebral palsy can play with friends, designed to look like a game rather than therapy equipment. MakeGood calls for a pickle-ball paddle holder for users with weakened hand-arm musculature who struggle to grip sports paddles and wish to play pickle-ball alongside friends.  

Each of the seven partners contributed briefs based on work with real users. 

“These are not hypothetical users,” said Qianye, Creator Operation at MakerWorld. “Jessica already walks her dog. Someone in a ward at Rancho already drops something and has to ask a stranger to pick it up. The question for makers is very small and very specific: can you print the missing piece so that person does not have to ask?” 

Many of the co-initiating organizations have long built structured pathways connecting creators with people with disabilities. What MakerWorld delivers is creativity at scale: it unlocks richer creative ideas from more diverse backgrounds and draws more skilled creators into assistive design. This makes more makers aware of how they can contribute toward good, deepens understanding of the barriers people with disabilities face, and fosters greater empathy across the community. 

The MakerWorld community will have two months to submit. The accessibility organizations will then spend one month printing shortlisted models and testing them with the people named in the briefs. Some partners will deliver those prints to users. Feedback from that testing will inform the final results. 

Winning files will be added to open libraries and distributed through volunteer networks that already deliver devices in more than 70 countries. 

Each organization is responsible for a different part of the process. 

The success of the initiative will come down to ordinary moments: someone who once put a game aside because the pieces were too small sits down and plays; someone does her ponytail without help; someone puts on a second sock with ease. 

If there are even a dozen moments like that by December, the challenge will have done what it set out to do.

He previously founded fable+, a data analytics and transformation company acquired by Accenture, where he went on to serve as Managing Director overseeing a global portfolio of enterprise transformation products, and is co-author of Decision Intelligence (Wiley).
