L’indagine, promossa dall’Aigo (Associazione italiana gastroenterologi ed endoscopisti digestivi ospedalieri), ha affrontato uno degli ostacoli principali alla prevenzione del tumore al colon: la difficoltà di assumere grandi quantità di liquidi per la pulizia intestinale. Per un paziente anziano, bere due o più litri di preparato può essere una barriera insormontabile, che spesso porta a esami incompleti o rinunce.

Lo studio Platone (acronimo che sta per PEG bowel preparation in elderly outpatients) ha messo a confronto una preparazione a basso volume (solo 1 litro) con quella standard da 2 litri. I risultati presentati dal dottor Paolo Montalto, direttore della Gastroenterologia di Pescia e presidente eletto di Aigo, sono chiari: il regime da un litro non è solo paragonabile a quello tradizionale, ma si è dimostrato superiore in termini di pulizia efficace e capacità di individuare le lesioni.

Lo studio scientifico multicentrico – che ha coinvolto 300 pazienti anziani trattati a livello ambulatoriale – nasce da una stretta collaborazione guidata dalla Gastroenterologia dell’ospedale Ss. Cosma e Damiano di Pescia (centro coordinatore nell’ambito della Gastroenterologia Pistoia-Prato diretta dal dottor Mario Lombardi). Al progetto hanno contribuito attivamente la Gastroenterologia oncologica del Cro di Aviano (con il direttore professor Renato Cannizzaro), la Gastroenterologia ed Endoscopia digestiva dell’Asst Sette Laghi di Varese (con il direttore dottor Sergio Segato e lo sperimentatore dottor Marco Balzarini) e la Gastroenterologia ed Endoscopia digestiva di Firenze dell’Ausl Toscana centro (con il direttore dottor Ottaviano Tarantino e lo sperimentatore dottor Bernardo Fani).

Dal punto di vista tecnico, lo studio è stato condotto con un rigido protocollo “in cieco”: l’endoscopista che eseguiva l’esame non sapeva quale preparazione avesse assunto il paziente, garantendo l’assoluta imparzialità del giudizio. Oltre a essere più facile da bere, il preparato da un litro ha mostrato un profilo di sicurezza e tollerabilità ottimale, rendendolo lo standard ideale per chi, superata una certa età, deve sottoporsi a screening ambulatoriale.

Il giovane è finito a terra mentre pedalava lungo la strada che costeggia le mura storiche della città. Secondo le prime ricostruzioni, nell’incidente non sarebbero rimasti coinvolti altri mezzi.

Per soccorrerlo, la centrale del 118 ha inviato sul posto un’automedica e un’ambulanza della Misericordia di Pistoia. Dopo le prime cure, il ragazzo è stato trasportato in codice rosso al pronto soccorso dell’ospedale San Jacopo.

I primi accertamenti hanno spinto i medici a disporne il trasferimento urgente all’ospedale pediatrico Meyer di Firenze, dove potrà ricevere cure specialistiche. Per il 14enne si sospetta un trauma spinale.

Nelle ore successive alla caduta dalla bici a Pistoia sono però arrivate notizie più rassicuranti: il giovane non sarebbe in pericolo di vita e le sue condizioni sono stabili, anche se la prognosi resta riservata.

Restano da chiarire nel dettaglio le cause della caduta dalla bici a Pistoia che, secondo i primi riscontri, sarebbe un incidente autonomo. Il ragazzo rimane ricoverato al Meyer, dove i medici seguono l’evoluzione del quadro clinico.

Un mese pieno di proteste: gli scioperi di ottobre in Toscana riguardano treni, tramvia, scuole e voli, con possibili disagi per chi si sposta e per le famiglie.

Si parte venerdì 2 ottobre con uno sciopero nazionale indetto dal sindacato Csle, a cui si è unito Fi-Si. Coinvolge lavoratori pubblici e privati, dalla scuola alla sanità fino ai Comuni, per tutta la giornata. Per i treni lo stop è più breve: dalle 11 alle 14. A Pisa, invece, non ci sarà lo sciopero Geofor del 5 e 6 ottobre. La protesta è stata rinviata e la raccolta dei rifiuti andrà avanti come sempre. Dal 5 al 7 ottobre si fermano i magistrati onorari che aderiscono a Nuova magistratura onoraria, cioè quelli nominati dopo la riforma del 2017.

Sabato 10 ottobre sciopera per 24 ore il personale Gest, che gestisce la tramvia di Firenze. Le corse sono comunque garantite dalle 6,30 alle 9,30 e dalle 17 alle 20. I bus di Autolinee Toscane viaggeranno regolarmente. Lunedì 12 si fermano i dipendenti Wind Tre, anche in Toscana.

Tra gli scioperi di ottobre in Toscana, quello più importante è lo sciopero generale della Cgil di mercoledì 14, che dura tutta la giornata e riguarda lavoratori pubblici e privati di tutta la regione. Il sindacato protesta contro i pacchetti sicurezza e per il diritto a manifestare. Chiede anche solidarietà per le persone chiamate in tribunale dopo il corteo del 3 ottobre 2025 alla stazione di Massa Centro. Per molte di loro la prima udienza è fissata proprio il 14.

A Massa l’appuntamento è alle 9 in piazza Garibaldi. Il corteo arriverà poi in piazza Aranci, dove parlerà il segretario della Cgil Maurizio Landini. I treni si fermano dalle 9 alle 17, bus e tram per quattro ore con orari diversi da città a città. Scuole e aerei non sono coinvolti.

Il personale di bordo EasyJet sciopera per 24 ore sia giovedì 15 sia venerdì 16. Chi ha un volo da o per Pisa e Firenze farà bene a controllare prima con la compagnia. Venerdì 16 si fermano anche i controllori di volo Enav, dalle 13 alle 17. Nello stesso giorno sciopera la scuola, con docenti, presidi e personale Ata, e ci sarà uno stop dei vigili del fuoco dalle 10 alle 14.

Venerdì 30 ottobre chiude il mese uno sciopero generale nazionale che coinvolge anche la scuola. Treni, aerei, bus, tram e traghetti invece viaggeranno regolarmente. Il calendario degli scioperi di ottobre in Toscana potrebbe comunque cambiare, tra nuove proteste e possibili revoche.

In addition to battery monitoring functions, this product integrates EIS-based impedance measurement into a single chip. EIS is a technique that superimposes an AC current on a battery and calculates impedance from the resulting voltage and current responses. This makes it possible to perform EIS measurements within the system, without the dedicated measurement equipment previously required, enabling continuous monitoring and diagnosis of internal battery conditions. 

By quantitatively assessing internal battery conditions that are difficult to determine from conventional voltage, current, and temperature measurements alone, EIS can estimate SOH and internal temperature, predict battery lifetime, and provide early detection of signs of cell abnormalities, contributing to improved battery safety in vehicles and energy storage systems.

I militari hanno esteso la verifica alla merce esposta, controllando il rispetto della normativa su marchi e brevetti, del Codice del Consumo e delle regole europee sulla sicurezza dei giocattoli. Al banco sono stati sequestrati 57 prodotti privi di qualsiasi etichettatura, mancanti quindi delle indicazioni obbligatorie sulla sede legale del produttore o di un importatore stabilito nell’Unione Europea, delle avvertenze in italiano e della marcatura Ce, oltre a dieci giocattoli contraffatti. L’attenzione delle Fiamme Gialle si è concentrata su questi ultimi, con l’obiettivo di risalire alla filiera illecita e al luogo di approvvigionamento, individuato in provincia di Pisa.

Le attività successive, coordinate dall’autorità giudiziaria pisana, hanno portato al ritrovamento di 19868 prodotti tra carte collezionabili, gadget e giocattoli vari con personaggi tutelati dal diritto d’autore o marchi registrati, tra cui articoli Disney, Mattel e Dumbling Squishy, pupazzi Labubu e carte da gioco Pokémon, messi in vendita senza le necessarie autorizzazioni. Altri 921 prodotti erano commercializzati senza le indicazioni obbligatorie sul produttore o sull’importatore europeo e con avvertenze non in lingua italiana.

Il dato più delicato riguarda i giocattoli Squishy Fidget Fun!, nel modello Rainbow Mystery / one set sugar edition, nei formati regular e mini. Secondo la Guardia di Finanza risultano inseriti nel sistema di allerta rapido della Commissione europea Safety-Gate (Rapex), perché costituiscono un grave rischio per la salute e la sicurezza dei bambini, in quanto non conformi ai requisiti della direttiva 2009/48/CE sulla sicurezza dei giocattoli. Il pericolo, spiegano le Fiamme Gialle, è legato alla struttura stessa dei prodotti, che espone i più piccoli a rischi di natura meccanica e chimica, in particolare alla possibile migrazione di sostanze tossiche non autorizzate durante la manipolazione.

Il bilancio complessivo è di merce sequestrata per circa 25mila euro, due persone denunciate alle autorità giudiziarie di Pistoia e Pisa per introduzione nello Stato e commercio di prodotti con segni falsi, e verbali amministrativi con sanzioni da 1.500 a 10mila euro.

Infatti l’emissione dei tagliandi, come riportato nella nota, “cessa con l’inizio della gara”. Per questo motivo il botteghino chiuderà sempre, in occasione delle partite casalinghe, dieci minuti prima dell’inizio delle stesse. Il sistema centralizzato nazionale cui si appoggia ogni ticketing provider prevede per l’appunto, da questa stagione sportiva e senza alcuna eccezione, l’immediata chiusura delle vendite di biglietti nell’orario di inizio degli eventi sportivi.

Per quanto concerne dunque la gara casalinga tra Lumos Pistoia e Reale Mutua Torino, in programma domenica 4 ottobre alle ore 18 alla LumoSquare, le prevendite online apriranno oggi, martedì 29 settembre alle ore 18 sul sito www.vivaticket.com. Questi saranno, invece, gli orari di apertura del botteghino situato presso l’entrata della Curva Pistoia che, come precedentemente annunciato, da quest’anno svolgerà il proprio servizio di vendita anche nella giornata di giovedì precedente la partita.

LONDON, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — A growing AI skills divide is creating a diverging workforce, with the majority of workers at risk of being left behind as access to learning and development falls – even as AI use and the pace of workplace change accelerate. 

PwC’s 2026 Global Workforce Hopes and Fears Survey, which interviewed nearly 50,000 workers across 48 countries and regions, finds diverging optimism in the growth trajectories and experiences of employees – as workers face rapid change, rising workloads and greater cost-of-living pressures. 

Just 51% say they have access to the learning and development resources they need, down from 59% last year. 

The divide is particularly stark among the 56% of ‘engine room’ workers whose skills are less scarce and who are not far along the AI learning curve: only two in five of those workers say they have access to the learning and development resources they need. 

Meanwhile, workers who use AI daily are more confident in their job security, more likely to trust management and more confident about their ability to learn new skills.

AI adoption continues to rise but workers face growing pressures 

Workers are feeling significant pressure. Only a third report having money left at the end of the month, down 8% year on year. 

At the same time, almost a third (29%) say they have significantly less bargaining power than three years ago, more than double the number who disagreed. For fully remote workers, the proportion is 10 points higher. 

When considering the biggest risks to job security, more workers cite economic volatility (57%) than AI taking on more tasks (44%) – with Gen Z more anxious across all these metrics. 

Three-fifths (58%) of those who have experienced change in the workplace feel there has been more change in the last year than in previous years. Almost one-third (27%) say that feeling fatigued or burned out limits their productivity. 

The vast majority of workers say they have also had to apply new skills in their job over the past year, with two-fifths (40%) saying this was to a large or very large extent. 

Change is happening faster at leadership levels. More than half (51%) of senior executives and 46% of managers say they have applied new skills in their roles, relative to 29% of non-managers and 38% of entry-level workers. 

But as workers face mounting pressure – AI adoption continues to rise: nearly two-thirds (64%) of all workers cite using AI at work in the past 12 months – a ten-point increase relative to last year. The proportion using Gen AI daily also increased from 14% to 22%. Roughly three-fifths (59%) of workers expect their use of AI tools in their job to increase over the next 12 months. This group reports that the use of AI makes them feel energised and empowered rather than tired and powerless, by margins of around 5:1. 

Daily AI users in the workforce are also more optimistic: 68% report confidence in their job security compared to 57% for infrequent users. They are also more likely to ask for a promotion (+12 percentage points), trust top management (+15) and be confident they can learn new skills (+21). 

The new workforce divide 

While workers are broadly confident (61%) that they can develop skills growth – only half (51%) cite being able to access learning and development resources (down from 59%). To understand this further, the report segments the workforce into four groups: 

The report highlights the need for employers to pay particular attention to the ‘engine room’ group. This group is less likely to be rewarded for using AI, learning new skills or challenging existing ways of working – yet they are the majority of the workforce, responsible for most of the day-to-day work within an organisation. 

Meanwhile the ‘front-runners’ are seeing strong benefits from their position. They are most likely to over-index on being rewarded for challenging existing ways of working (1.5x global average) and learning new skills (1.2x global average). This group is also +33 points more likely to ask for a promotion. 

In a challenge to employers seeking to retain their most valuable workers, almost a third (29%) of this group say they are very or extremely likely to change employer in the next year.

SINGAPORE, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — In response to rising demand for AI and high-performance computing, Castrol today launched Castrol CORE, a new end-to-end offer for its data centre thermal management business. The offer is designed to help customers manage increasingly complex cooling requirements from early-stage design through to daily operations. 

Castrol CORE marks a shift from Castrol’s existing product-led cooling business towards an integrated, service-led approach that brings together a network of product, infrastructure, design and service partners, giving customers a single point of contact across the value chain rather than having to coordinate with multiple suppliers.  

Under Castrol CORE, Castrol will work with customers earlier in the development of data centre infrastructure, adding new capabilities in design to its existing support for deployment, start-up, operation and maintenance. The move is based on Castrol’s industry research which found growing demand for integrated thermal management solutions that reduce the complexity of working with multiple technologies and suppliers. The research also highlighted supply chain challenges and the high cost of failure as significant concerns for the industry. 

Central to the offer are Castrol’s cooling technologies, which have been tested and validated with leading chip and hardware manufacturers including NVIDIA and Intel. This gives customers confidence that the technology can keep pace with next-generation AI infrastructure. Since Cyberpunk 2077 was released by CD PROJEKT RED in 2020, the open-world setting of Night City, its cast of memorable, multilayered characters, and its thought-provoking narrative dealing with technology, mortality, and the divide between the powerful and the powerless, has left a lasting mark on gamers around the world. 

The collaboration currently features two products: the HiBy Digital PULSE gaming headset and the HiBy Digital GRID external sound card. The Artemis II crew joins an exceptional group of 2026 Stephen Hawking Medal recipients. This year, STARMUS has also announced legendary filmmaker Sir Ridley Scott. 

The 2026 awards have particular significance as STARMUS celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Stephen Hawking Medal. 

Previous recipients include some of the world’s most influential figures in science, exploration and culture, among them Buzz Aldrin, Jane Goodall, David Attenborough, Christopher Nolan, Hans Zimmer, Elon Musk, Brian Eno and Neil deGrasse Tyson. 

From Apollo to Artemis 

The recognition of the Artemis II crew continues a remarkable connection between STARMUS and human space exploration that began with the very first festival 15 years ago. 

Over the years, nine Apollo astronauts have taken part in STARMUS, including Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, Apollo 8 astronauts Bill Anders and Jim Lovell, alongside legendary cosmonaut Alexei Leonov. They came to STARMUS not simply as pioneers of exploration, but to share their experiences, discoveries and vision directly with the public. Aldrin and Leonov returned to STARMUS several times in the years that followed. 

Leonov held a particularly special place in the STARMUS family. In 1965, he became the first human being to walk in space, opening an entirely new chapter in human space exploration.

It incorporates Leonov’s artistic depiction of Stephen Hawking and imagery connected with Brian May’s legendary Red Special guitar, bringing together science, human space exploration, art and music in a single object. 

The presence of Leonov in the Medal’s design has a particularly powerful meaning. The man who became the first person to walk in space also used his talent as an artist to portray Stephen Hawking — and that image became part of a Medal devoted to communicating science to humanity.
