This brings together Fastmarkets’ lithium market expertise with TMX Trayport’s established technology, to create trusted digital infrastructure with greater transparency, connectivity and access to spot liquidity. 

Fastmarkets Connect is the new name for the digital price discovery and deal initiation proposition announced in June at the Global Lithium, Battery & Critical Materials conference in Las Vegas. 

TMX Trayport’s technology is widely used across established commodity markets, including energy, environmental markets and bulk commodities. By working with TMX Trayport, Fastmarkets will bring proven market infrastructure to the lithium sector, where electronic price discovery and deal initiation mechanisms remain less developed than in many more mature commodity markets. 

This collaboration marks the next stage in the development of the platform to support electronic price discovery. Fastmarkets Connect is being designed to support bilateral deal initiation, improve market transparency, standardization and connect participants across the lithium supply chain. Fastmarkets Connect aims to contribute to the continued development of lithium market infrastructure. 

Under the arrangement, TMX Trayport will provide the platform technology, while Fastmarkets will operate Fastmarkets Connect and oversee its governance, development and market engagement. Volkswagen leads at No. 1, Shell at No. 2. List dominated by financial services, energy, and car makers 

UK takes the lead from Germany with the most companies on the list 

Europe’s corporate giants drive $15.5 trillion in revenue, up 4% from last year 

Women lead 8.6% of companies on the list, with 43 female CEOs. This is the highest number for the Fortune 500 Europe since its launch in 2023  

LONDON, Sept. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Today, Fortune unveiled the Fortune 500 Europe ranking for 2026, highlighting the continent’s top companies. The launch will be marked at the bell opening of the London Stock Exchange. Volkswagen maintains its lead position, with revenues up 3%, widening the gap with Shell, whose revenues fell 5%. 

For the first time in the list’s four-year history, Germany no longer contributes the most companies to the list. The UK takes the lead with 76 companies, followed by Germany with 73 and France with 66. 

Profit growth returned to the Fortune 500 Europe companies after a 5% decline the previous year, with profits increasing by 3% to just over $1 trillion. Overall, revenues grew by 4% to $15.5 trillion, equivalent to half of the region’s GDP and 13% of world GDP. The overall profit margin shrank again, to 6.5%, down from the high of 7.1% for the 2024 list. Cost control is reflected in the combined employment figure for the 500, which shrank by 1% to 34.6 million, pushing up revenue per employee by 5% and profit per employee by 4%. 

At the top, Volkswagen reported $363 billion in revenue, while FMS Wertmanagement Group closes the list at #500 with $7.4 billion, pushing the list’s lower threshold to over $7 billion for the first time. HSBC again tops profits, with over $22 billion in 2025 – one of only 25 firms over $10 billion. 

The number of women CEOs has risen further to 43, the highest for Fortune 500 Europe, and total revenues for women-led firms increased by 24% to $1.2 billion. Some 8.6% of companies are led by women – fewer than one in ten and below the 11% representation in the U.S.-based Fortune 500. BP (#4), led by Meg O’Neill, is the only woman-led company in the top 10, and with Engie (#39), one of two in the top 50.

Financial services is the largest sector in the list, responsible for 24% of revenue, 40% of profits, and 14% of employees. Financial services, energy, and motor vehicles & parts together account for over half of all revenues and profits on the list, and dominate the top 10. Shell, Glencore, BP, and TotalEnergies claim four of the top five spots. Germany’s industrial strength is reflected via Volkswagen (#1), BMW (#7), and Mercedes-Benz (#8). The UK’s strong energy presence secures two of the top five spots, and France leads with the most workers across its 66 companies.

Targeted recycling policies would deliver 68% greater recycling gains than a 5% virgin plastic production cap while supporting affordability by minimizing impacts on household welfare 

BRUSSELS, Sept. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Focusing waste collection and recycling policies where they can reduce the most mismanaged waste could achieve the same reduction in plastic leakage as a global cap on virgin plastics production, but at substantially lower economic costs and significantly more plastics recycling, according to a new Oxford Economics study commissioned by the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA). 

Evaluating Policy Pathways to End Plastic Pollution is the second phase of Oxford Economics’ analysis for ICCA. It builds on the 2024 study, Mapping the Plastics Value Chain, which documented the plastics industry’s global economic footprint and examined the potential consequences of constraining production. 

The report’s main comparison is between a scenario with a modest 5% cap on virgin plastics production (Scenario 1) and a scenario that targets stronger collection and recycling incentives to regions with the greatest potential to reduce mismanaged plastic waste (Scenario 2a). 

Oxford Economics used the modeled leakage outcome under a 5% production cap as a common benchmark to calibrate the remaining scenarios. This allowed the study to compare each scenario’s effects on recycling, prices, output and welfare on equal terms. 

Compared with the 5% production cap scenario, targeted collection and recycling policies and incentives would deliver: 

These effects would be felt around the world, though their scale would vary significantly by region. Under the production cap scenario, household welfare would decline by $38.5 billion in East Asia, $37.7 billion in Western Europe, $22.1 billion in North America, $8.8 billion in Southeast Asia, $6.1 billion in the Middle East and $6.0 billion in Latin America. Every region modeled would experience a decline in household welfare. 

“Plastics are deeply embedded in products and supply chains, and other materials cannot readily replace them in many applications,” said Alice Gambarin, one of the report’s authors and associate director at Oxford Economics. “That makes demand for plastics relatively inelastic. When virgin supply is capped, demand does not simply disappear or shift to other materials. Instead, prices rise across the plastics value chain, increasing costs for businesses and consumers and lowering household welfare.” 

In contrast, targeting recycling incentives according to each region’s potential to reduce mismanaged waste would achieve the same global leakage reduction at far lower economic cost. In that scenario, recycling could increase by 20.5 million metric tons in South Asia and 13.7 million metric tons in East Asia, the two regions where the model identified the greatest absolute opportunity for improvement. 

“This study shows that environmental ambition and economic well-being do not have to be in conflict,” said Marco Mensink, ICCA council secretary and director general of Cefic. “The global plastics pollution agreement is an opportunity to boost a circular economy worldwide by expanding plastic recycling and reuse, while tackling plastic waste pollution by prioritizing solid waste collection for the 2.7 billion people worldwide who still lack access.” 

The findings reinforce the need for a global agreement that mobilizes finance, builds capacity, and enables governments to focus resources to tackle plastic waste leakage most effectively in their communities.

At GASTECH 2026, Hanwha Power operated a joint booth with major marine and energy affiliates, including Hanwha Ocean and Hanwha Engines, showcasing comprehensive marine solutions from eco-friendly vessel transitions and propulsion systems to marine equipment and related technologies. 

The certificate presentation ceremony was held on September 15 local time, attended by Hanwha Power Marine Solution Business Division Head Hoon-min Kim, Vice President Jong-kyu Hwang, who oversees Technical Solutions, and key ABS representatives. 

With this AiP, Hanwha Power has completed its lineup of medium- and large-scale LNG bunkering vessels, ranging from 7,500 to 22,000 CBM. 

A key feature is the design’s LNG-ammonia multi-cargo capability, enabling transport of both LNG and ammonia, an emerging next-generation clean fuel. The design incorporates high-manganese steel cargo containment technology, Mc-CⓇ, allowing adaptation to future alternative fuels with minimal modifications, providing shipowners greater long-term flexibility and competitiveness. 

Given bunkering vessels’ coastal operating profile, Hanwha Power applied a hybrid electric propulsion system integrating Onshore Power Supply (OPS) with an Energy Storage System (ESS). FIRENZE – La rete di Pellegrino nella prima frazione e i sigilli di Gnonto e Pedro Gonçalves nella ripresa bastano alla Fiorentina per aggiudicarsi il derby dell’Arno e staccare il pass per gli ottavi di finale di Coppa Italia Frecciarossa. Esce a testa alta il Pisa Sporting Club, autore comunque di una prestazione di buon livello. Nel prossimo turno i viola voleranno allo stadio Diego Armando Maradona per affrontare il Napoli di Massimiliano Allegri.

Le due squadre, in questo inizio di stagione, hanno avuto qualche difficoltà. Sul fronte della Fiorentina, dopo tre sconfitte nelle prime tre giornate di Serie A si è deciso di sollevare dall’incarico Fabio Grosso per richiamare Paolo Vanoli: con lui la Viola ha espugnato il campo del Venezia per 2-4, con Mastantuono assoluto protagonista della trasferta. Il Pisa, invece, è arrivato a questa sfida reduce dalla pesante sconfitta casalinga contro la Virtus Entella per 1-4. Nel turno precedente di Coppa Italia, la Fiorentina ha eliminato il Benevento per 4-1, mentre i nerazzurri hanno superato l’Empoli in casa ai rigori.

I due club nella passata stagione si erano incontrati in Serie A: nel girone d’andata a Pisa la sfida si è chiusa sullo 0-0, mentre il ritorno al Franchi è stato vinto dalla Fiorentina per 1-0. A Firenze i precedenti del derby toscano sono 13: 9 vittorie viola (ultima 1-0, Serie A 2025/26), 3 pareggi (ultimo 0-0, Serie A 1987/88) e 1 successo nerazzurro (0-1, Coppa Italia Serie C 2002/03).

La prima occasione della gara porta la firma di Ndour al 3′: la sua conclusione dal centro dell’area trova però attento Loyola, bravo a sventare la minaccia in scivolata. Si fa vedere ancora la Fiorentina con Gnonto, che tenta la battuta da fuori area senza inquadrare lo specchio. Il primo squillo del Pisa arriva invece al 12′: Rao punta e salta João Mário mettendo dentro un traversone basso per Piccinini, il quale però non aggancia la sfera vanificando l’azione. I nerazzurri insistono con lo stesso Piccinini, abile ad apparecchiare per Loyola, ma il piazzato dell’uruguaiano viene murato dalla difesa.

Al 20′ tornano a farsi pericolosi i padroni di casa: Oulai innesca Mastantuono, il cui tiro trova la pronta risposta di Scuffet. Al 29′ il Pisa contrattacca a pieno organico: Loyola trova Léris, il quale imbuca subito per la corsa di Rao che, a tu per tu con il portiere, centra l’esterno del palo. Al 33′ ingenuità difensiva dei viola, che regalano una rimessa laterale in zona calda: Léris batte rapidamente per Rao, bravo a difendere la palla e a girarsi, ma il suo fendente sfiora la traversa.

Al 40′ la Fiorentina sblocca il match con Pellegrino: Oulai appoggia per Drăgușin, che lascia partire una botta dalla distanza; Scuffet si oppone ma non trattiene e sul pallone vagante il più lesto di tutti è proprio Pellegrino, bravo a farsi trovare al posto giusto per firmare il vantaggio gigliato.

Cambio per la Fiorentina all’intervallo: entra Vieri al posto di Drăgușin. La prima occasione della ripresa è per il Pisa: inserimento di Piccinini, che serve Pittarello a centro area; l’attaccante calcia da posizione ravvicinata ma manda incredibilmente a lato. Immediata la replica della formazione viola con Mastantuono, la cui botta trova però un attento Scuffet. Triplo cambio per i nerazzurri: entrano Angori, Moreo e Petagna al posto di Pittarello, Rao e Zanon. Muove la panchina anche la Fiorentina, inserendo Njie e Pedro Gonçalves per Brescianini e Mastantuono.

Al 63′ tornano a farsi pericolosi i gigliati, ancora con Pellegrino: il centravanti controlla la sfera sull’invito di Pedro Gonçalves e va al tiro, trovando la pronta risposta dell’estremo difensore ospite. Nuova mossa per il Pisa: esce Primasso, al termine di una buona prestazione all’esordio dal primo minuto in maglia nerazzurra, per fare spazio a Coppola.

Al 71′ la Fiorentina firma il raddoppio: percussione personale devastante di Njie, che penetra nei sedici metri e scarica a rimorchio per Gnonto, letale nel piazzare il pallone all’angolino e firmare il 2-0. Altra rotazione per i padroni di casa: entra Jiménez ed esce Valdepeñas. Ultimo avvicendamento per il Pisa, con Denoon che rileva Léris. HANNOVER, Germany, Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — SANY Heavy Truck, together with Putzmeister, a member of SANY Group, has made its debut at IAA Transportation 2026 under the theme “Here to Stay,” presenting a production-ready portfolio of battery-electric commercial vehicles developed for European transport operations. 

The display is led by the SE636 battery-electric heavy-duty truck and also includes battery-electric cargo and concrete mixer trucks, demonstrating SANY’s capabilities across multiple commercial transport applications. 

Production-ready technology for European operations 

Built on a 4×2 chassis, the SE636 features a 636 kWh battery system, a stated range of up to 500 kilometers and a curb weight of 10.9 metric tons. The vehicle has received EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval and is already operating in Germany, Türkiye and other European markets. According to SANY, it is the first mass-produced battery-electric heavy-duty truck from a Chinese manufacturer to receive EU WVTA.

SANY provided a two-kilometer test route at the show, allowing fleet operators, logistics customers and industry media from Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and other markets to experience the vehicles directly.
