Global cross-border euro payments now settled in seconds, not days 

NICOSIA, Cyprus, Sept. 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Xryma Plc (“Xryma”), a banktech group providing regulated cross-border open banking, international transactional banking and real-time EU and UK payment services, whilst also independently offering banking software and technology to third party banks and financial institutions, is pleased to announce that it is now live and actively transacting on the European Central Bank’s (ECB) T2 Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) network, enabling near-instant cross-border euro payments for its customers under its own BIC ISEMCY22XXX. 

Global transfers of EURO currency are now available to customers of Xryma’s ISX Money, and shortly also to flykk® customers. 

T2 is the Eurosystem’s RTGS system, the backbone of large-value euro payment settlement operated by the ECB, bringing credibility and stability to the payments’ ecosystem, guaranteeing secure settlement in central bank money. T2 RTGS represents a fundamental advance over traditional correspondent banking; where SWIFT-based transfers typically take three to five business days and pass through multiple intermediary banks, T2 settles euro transactions in near real-time. According to the ECB’s TARGET Services Annual Report 2023, 90% of transactions were settled within 38 seconds, whereas 0.09% took more than five minutes. The ECB’s 2024 Annual Report confirmed that 99.73% of T2 payments were processed in less than two minutes. 

Being one of the first non-bank payment service providers (PSPs) to gain direct access to the Eurosystem’s T2 network, Xryma has built a comprehensive banktech model, combining fintech agility with bank-grade deep infrastructure. As an early adopter of SEPA Instant, Xryma architected a solution that load balances its traffic via two central banks (via Bank of Lithuania and Bank of Latvia), moving away from the conventional single path solution. This means that Xryma manages its traffic into T2 via independent pathways to optimise volume flow.

Compliance friction is also materially reduced. SWIFT transfers require a separate compliance check at each correspondent hop; T2 RTGS limits checks to the sending and receiving institutions without any reduction in screening and oversight, streamlining the process while maintaining regulatory standards. 

The ECB has announced plans to extend T2 to 24/7 operations, which will further expand Xryma’s capability to offer near-instant euro settlement to customers transacting with more than 950 direct participant banks across the EU, and rapid settlement to more than 22,500 indirect participant banks worldwide. 

Xryma has also upgraded its SEPA instant services to TIPS, which will extend into cross-border and multi-currency services in the near future.

First deliveries will begin in the UK this week, marking the start of a broader European rollout in the weeks ahead. 

TCL Solar C2 was unveiled in June at SNEC in Shanghai and Intersolar Europe in Munich, where TCL SunPower first showed the back-contact platform. Today’s milestone moves it from launch announcement to a market-ready solution for residential, commercial, industrial and ground-mounted solar installations.

The result is a panel built to lead on efficiency, design, and durability at scale. Back-contact is now our flagship technology platform, and we believe it will redefine expectations for solar across Europe.” 

The C2 range covers two configurations built on the same back-contact cell: C2 S Black for residential and small commercial roofs, at up to 495 W and 23.8% efficiency; and C2 L and C2 L UPP for larger commercial and utility-scale projects, at up to 670 W and 24.8% efficiency, with bifaciality up to 85% on the L and L UPP variants. 

The panels use a full-screen gapless back-contact design — no metal busbars on the front — which adds more than 5% usable power density per panel versus a conventional front-contact layout of the same size, simply because there’s more active cell surface facing the sun. The company also points to a temperature coefficient of -0.26%/°C and an annual degradation rate below 0.35%, which keeps a panel at roughly 88.85% of its original output after 30 years. Every C2 module is backed by a long-term warranty package, with up to a 25-year product warranty and a 30-year power warranty, depending on the model.

European certification supports market expansion 

On the opening day, DNV formally handed over certification for SANY Renewable Energy’s SI-17578EU wind turbine. Beyond the core assessment of loads and structural integrity, the certification also covers personnel safety and operational design. In these areas, the SI-17578EU places particular emphasis on ergonomics and maintainability, with design features that simplify installation, improve safe O&M access and support efficient servicing throughout the turbine’s lifecycle.

SoftBank Corp.’s ground team tracked Sceye’s stratospheric platform in real time and continuously received reflected laser signals, advancing future free-space optical (FSO) communications between ground, stratosphere, and space 

MORIARTY, N.M., Sept. 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Sceye, a U.S. aerospace and material science company building High Altitude Platform Systems (HAPS) for stratospheric infrastructure, today announced the world-first stratospheric laser tracking demonstration. The demonstration was part of Sceye’s historic month-long ST1 flight and was conducted by SoftBank Corp. (TOKYO:9434, “SoftBank”) in collaboration with Hitotsubashi University and the National Institute of Polar Research (NIPR), with Sceye supporting the demonstration through the use of its HAPS platform. It aimed to examine how optical wireless communication equipment should be installed on a Sceye HAPS, as well as to collect data toward realizing future optical wireless communications between satellites, HAPS and the ground. 

NIPR designed a corner cube reflector (CCR) for installation on a HAPS, and SoftBank developed a reflector assembly incorporating the CCR. Sceye installed and carried the CCR on the first-ever HAPS flight over Japan. For the ground-based equipment, the team built a compact, portable laser ranging system capable of tracking a HAPS, based on “Omni-SLR,” a compact satellite laser ranging system designed by Hitotsubashi University.  

Using the corner cube reflector installed on Sceye’s HAPS and the compact, portable laser ranging system deployed on the ground, the team directed laser pulses toward the platform as it operated in the stratosphere. The system successfully conducted real-time tracking of Sceye’s HAPS and continuously received laser signals reflected back to the ground.

Optical wireless communications are emerging as a next-generation technology for high-speed, high-capacity non-terrestrial networks connecting satellites, HAPS, and terrestrial infrastructure. Applications include the rapid transmission of Earth observation data, connectivity in underserved areas, restoration of communications following disasters, and low-latency intercontinental network links. 

“Tracking a HAPS from the ground with a highly directional laser is like trying to keep a laser pointer centered on a moving coin ten miles away, through an atmosphere that is constantly shifting the beam,” said Johnny Truong, Chief Technology Officer at Sceye. “The system had to locate the platform, precisely direct each laser pulse toward it, and continuously receive the reflected signals at the same location on the ground as the HAPS moved through the stratosphere. Successfully doing that demonstrates the precision required to build future optical links between ground, stratosphere, and space.” 

The demonstration was completed as part of Sceye’s recent ST1 flight, which launched from New Mexico on August 9 and traveled nearly 30,000 km on a round-trip journey in the stratosphere to Japan and back. The mission lasted 30 days and included operating over Japan for over seven days. While over Japan, Sceye and SoftBank proved direct-to-device connectivity to unmodified devices through SoftBank’s core network, including text messaging, voice calls, internet access, and video streaming. Testing also included emergency communications, HAPS-based communications with drones, and edge computing performed directly aboard the platform.

La Regione Toscana ha stanziato un nuovo contributo di 300mila euro per completare i lavori di riqualificazione del municipio di Pelago, in provincia di Firenze. La misura economica è contenuta all’interno di un accordo di programma appena varato dalla Giunta regionale, la cui firma ufficiale con l’amministrazione della Valdisieve è attesa per i prossimi giorni.

I fondi andranno a coprire i costi per le opere che riguardano gli spazi interni dell’edificio. Il cantiere si concentrerà in modo specifico sull’aggiornamento dell’impiantistica, sull’installazione dei controsoffitti e sulla sistemazione di serramenti e finiture. Questo intervento rappresenta la fase conclusiva di un percorso avviato in precedenza: la Regione aveva infatti già erogato un finanziamento di 700mila euro lo scorso anno, destinato all’esecuzione dei lavori strutturali per la messa in sicurezza e l’adeguamento antisismico dell’immobile.

La sede amministrativa di Pelago possiede un’evidente rilevanza architettonica. L’edificio fa parte del complesso del vecchio castello attorno al quale si formò il nucleo originario del borgo medievale, una struttura storicamente difesa da torri e fortificazioni. Le caratteristiche dell’immobile hanno portato il palazzo a essere inserito e votato all’interno del censimento dei Luoghi del Cuore, la campagna nazionale promossa dal Fondo Ambiente Italiano (Fai).

Il presidente della Regione, Eugenio Giani, ha sottolineato la doppia valenza, storica e civica, del cantiere. “Il Palazzo Comunale di Pelago è un edificio di notevole valore storico e architettonico, essendo parte del complesso dell’antico Castello di Pelago attorno a cui nacque il borgo medievale”, ha spiegato il governatore. L’impegno economico per gli interni mira a restituire la piena funzionalità alla struttura: “Abbiamo ritenuto più che opportuno questo ulteriore finanziamento perché consideriamo la rinascita del Palazzo comunale, luogo fondamentale per il rapporto tra istituzioni e cittadini, un tassello importante nel nostro impegno per la valorizzazione della Toscana diffusa”.

Il modello rappresenta un’evoluzione della Vezor lanciata nel 2024 ed è il primo della futura linea Race Department di Rossignol. La scarpa nasce da mesi di sviluppo e test condotti con gli atleti del Team Rossignol Trail Running, con un lavoro specifico sulla risposta della calzatura nelle diverse fasi della corsa e sui terreni accidentati. 

La suola sviluppata da Soles by Michelin utilizza una mescola formula abbinata a un battistrada con tasselli da 4,5 mm, zone di deformazione e canali per l’evacuazione dei detriti. La geometria è stata progettata tenendo conto delle tre fasi principali della corsa – frenata, transizione e propulsione – con l’obiettivo di favorire grip, controllo e precisione al variare di terreno, pendenza e ritmo. 

Il lavoro sulla suola si integra con la costruzione sviluppata da Rossignol. La tomaia in Matryx Micro open weave con filati Kevlar è pensata per combinare stabilità, supporto e traspirabilità, mentre la ghetta protettiva interviene sulla tenuta del tallone e sulla protezione dall’ingresso di detriti. I lacci dentellati permettono la regolazione della calzata e il sistema Dragonfly Fit contribuisce al sostegno del piede. 

L’intersuola a doppia densità combina EVA compressa e N+FOAM, una schiuma supercritica azotata progettata per resilienza e reattività. Tra i due strati è inserita Diapazon+, piastra composita in nylon e fibra di vetro sviluppata per favorire ritorno di energia, stabilità e sensibilità al terreno. La tecnologia Sensor 3 lavora invece sull’interazione con tre aree del piede coinvolte nel mantenimento dell’equilibrio.

SAMARKAND, Uzbekistan, Sept. 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Ukraine’s role in international chess has emerged as a focus of the 2026 FIDE presidential election after Timur Turlov proposed that Ukraine nominate its own candidate for FIDE Vice President if his ticket is elected. 

Turlov, who is running for FIDE President alongside five-time World Champion Viswanathan Anand, addressed Ukraine in a recent post on X, highlighting its longstanding contribution to international chess and calling for a stronger Ukrainian voice in FIDE leadership. 

“Ukraine is one of the world’s great chess nations,” Turlov wrote, noting the country’s generations of players and coaches. He said FIDE “cannot operate in isolation from what is happening in the world” and that Ukraine “should have its own voice in the room when decisions are discussed and made.” 

Turlov subsequently invited Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, to consider representing Ukraine in FIDE leadership. 

Podolyak responded that he supported Turlov’s reform vision and was ready to “personally join the new FIDE team.” He also said he wanted international federations to focus on their fundamental sporting objectives and fair competition. 

Turlov has served as President of the Kazakhstan Chess Federation since 2023 and President of the International School Chess Federation since 2025. FIDE reports that Kazakhstan’s national “Chess in Education” programme now reaches more than 1,500 schools and 60,000 students, with thousands of teachers trained. 

During Turlov’s tenure, Kazakhstan has also hosted major international competitions, including the World Rapid and Blitz Championships and the 2023 World Championship Match in Astana. FIDE has separately partnered with Freedom Holding Corp., Turlov’s Nasdaq-listed finance and technology business on 2026 chess-development programmes supporting tournaments, players, coaches, training centres, education and talent development. 

Turlov’s campaign has identified digital development, chess education, financial sustainability and institutional development among its priorities for FIDE. 

The FIDE presidential election will take place on September 26, 2026, during the General Assembly in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. FIDE has confirmed three presidential tickets: Timur Turlov–Viswanathan Anand, Wadim Rosenstein–Gordon Tang, and Jan Henric Buettner–Malcolm Pein.   

Each represented Member Federation has one vote.

È questo il senso di “Echi di Fine Estate”, iniziativa promossa dal Municipio Roma VI delle Torri, in programma venerdì 25 settembre alle ore 19.00 presso l’Arena del Teatro di Tor Bella Monaca, in via Bruno Crino, 5. 

L’appuntamento, pensato per offrire alla cittadinanza un momento di spettacolo e condivisione, riunirà sul palco interpreti e professionisti di diverse discipline artistiche, dando vita a una serata all’insegna della contaminazione tra generi e linguaggi. 

La manifestazione vedrà la partecipazione di Elena Bonelli, attrice e cantante, Giandomenico Anellino, chitarrista e compositore, Paola Quattrini, attrice, e Clive Riche & The Old Records Band.
