Nel corso del cordiale incontro di presentazione, il Console ed il Prefetto si sono brevemente intrattenuti a colloquio evidenziando i legami di amicizia della comunità statunitense con il territorio toscano, e pistoiese in particolare, accennando anche ad alcuni dei principali profili di comune interesse. 

Il primo incontro si terrà, dunque, mercoledì 23 settembre alle 16.30 nella sede L’Angolo, in via Capitini 390, alle Fornaci. Il secondo appuntamento è fissato per lunedì 28 settembre alle 15.30 a L’Argine, nei locali del circolo Arci di Bonelle, mentre l’ultimo incontro si svolgerà martedì 29 settembre alle 15.30 allo spazio Vicolo de’ Baldi, in Vicolo dei Baldi 19.

Gli incontri affronteranno, attraverso un linguaggio semplice e accessibile, alcuni temi sempre più presenti nella vita quotidiana: dall’intelligenza artificiale alla raccolta e all’utilizzo dei dati personali, fino alle modalità con cui possono essere messe in atto le truffe più diffuse. L’obiettivo è aiutare le persone partecipanti a riconoscere i segnali di una possibile truffa e a sapere come comportarsi di fronte a una situazione sospetta. Non solo informazioni, quindi, ma anche regole pratiche e immediatamente utilizzabili per proteggere sé stesse, i propri dati e le proprie famiglie

La prevenzione passa prima di tutto dalla conoscenza e dalla possibilità di parlarne senza timore o imbarazzo”.

A guidare gli incontri saranno gli esperti di Vento e Vertigine, associazione di promozione sociale impegnata, tra le altre cose, nell’educazione digitale, per promuovere un uso consapevole delle nuove tecnologie: Walter Tripi, Presidente dell’Associazione Vento e Vertigine, e Fabio Nerozzi, esperto di Compliance e responsabile dei progetti sulla legalità dell’Associazione.

Partendo da due temi principali, ovvero “Riconoscere le truffe di oggi” e “Difendersi ogni giorno” si cercherà di creare uno spazio di confronto libero, senza giudizio, in cui condividere apertamente ogni dubbio e attuare piccole simulazioni pratiche, come l’ascolto guidato di un esempio di voce clonata.

Le truffe telefoniche e online rivolte alle persone anziane sono, infatti, tra i fenomeni criminali cresciuti più rapidamente negli ultimi anni. L’arrivo dell’intelligenza artificiale ha reso questi raggiri più sofisticati e credibili. Conoscere, anche solo nelle sue linee essenziali, come funzionano questi strumenti è il modo più efficace per non caderne vittima.

Al termine del ciclo verrà realizzato un vademecum che raccoglierà i principali temi trattati nel corso delle tre giornate, con istruzioni semplici e pratiche per contrastare le truffe.

Gli incontri si inseriscono nella programmazione del “Progetto di prevenzione e contrasto alle truffe agli anziani” del Comune di Pistoia che, per il terzo anno consecutivo, ha ottenuto un finanziamento dal Fondo Unico Giustizia del Ministero dell’Interno, attraverso la sottoscrizione di un protocollo d’intesa con la Prefettura di Pistoia.

Il progetto si inserisce e va a potenziare “Socialmente” progetto di socializzazione dedicato alla terza età del Comune di Pistoia in collaborazione con le associazioni AUSER Territoriale, A.N.T.E.A.S., Arciconfraternita Misericordia Pistoia, A.P.D. e A.R.C.I. Comitato Provinciale di Pistoia.

Methane-to-SAF pathway combines Infinium’s commercially deployed advanced Fischer–Tropsch platform with electrified reforming to expand where low-carbon aviation fuel can be produced 

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Infinium today introduced its mSAF product offering, a new methane-derived sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) platform which converts renewable natural gas, biogas, flare gas, and other qualified methane streams into low-carbon aviation fuel. The new offering expands the feedstocks and locations available for Infinium projects while complementing the company’s growing CO₂-based eSAF business. 

The expansion addresses a fundamental challenge for aviation: no single feedstock pathway can produce all of the low-carbon fuel needed to satisfy rising SAF mandates and industry commitments. Renewable natural gas, biogas, flare gas and other methane streams are already aggregated at landfills, dairies, wastewater facilities and gas-gathering systems across North America, Asia, Europe and other geographies and are increasingly looking for diversified end use opportunities.

One Proven Technology, Two Feedstock Pathways 

Infinium has more than a decade of experience converting gases into liquid hydrocarbons with its synthesis technology deployed across commercial installations. Synthesize™ — Infinium’s proprietary advanced Fischer–Tropsch catalyst and reactor design for converting syngas into liquid hydrocarbons — is also used to produce Infinium eFuels today. The two product lines share core synthesis technology, catalyst manufacturing, product specifications and certification pathways. 

Electrified Reforming Improves Yield and Carbon Performance 

Infinium’s mSAF platform also utilizes its proprietary Reform™ package – a proprietary electric steam methane reformer (eSMR) designed to produce syngas with a lower carbon footprint than a traditional gas-fired SMR. Infinium is deploying the world’s largest eSMR at Project Roadrunner, for conversion of methane into syngas. 

Conventional steam methane reforming burns a portion of the feed gas to produce process heat. This adds combustion emissions to the fuel’s lifecycle footprint and consumes feedstock carbon that could otherwise be converted into the finished product. 

Infinium’s Reform™ technology uses renewable electricity to provide that process heat. This keeps more feedstock carbon available for conversion, increasing fuel yield per unit of gas, while avoiding the reforming-related combustion emissions associated with conventional systems. For RNG projects, where feedstock cost and carbon intensity are central to commercial performance, greater yield and lower reforming emissions directly improve project economics.

The mSAF designation does not imply a single carbon-intensity value across all projects. Lifecycle emissions will depend on the methane source, leakage rate, production-energy mix and chain of custody on individual assets. Infinium will calculate and independently certify carbon intensity at the project level under applicable regulatory and voluntary certification frameworks. 

By adding mSAF to its eFuels platform, Infinium is expanding the range of feedstocks and locations available for low-carbon fuel production while continuing to advance its CO₂-based eSAF business.

ECS operates across three key stages of competition. Before a match, the Inspection Station supports checks of player peripherals, devices and the competition environment, while maintaining check-in records. During competition, the Monitoring Console tracks more than 30 indicators in real time, including device and network status, and brings together multiple video sources such as Player POV, Observer View (OB) and Hand Cam. 

Following each match, the Review Room provides competition officials with access to match records and footage for post-match review, information retention, record summaries and video archiving. 

Building on Asian Games Experience 

ECS builds on Tencent Esports’ previous experience supporting esports at the 19th Asian Games, where its technical team supported 217 matches with zero technical incidents. 

Ahead of the 20th Asian Games, ECS underwent three test events between January and June 2026 in Japan, Singapore and Vietnam. These provided opportunities for the technical team to test and validate the solution across different venues, competition environments and network conditions. 

The team subsequently moved into the Asian Games venue earlier this month to conduct integrated system testing ahead of the official competition.

“Ho rassegnato, con effetto immediato, le mie dimissioni dalla carica di Vicesindaco del Comune di Pescia, rimettendo tutte le deleghe nelle mani del Sindaco.

Si tratta di una decisione personale, maturata dopo una riflessione attenta e non semplice, legata alla necessità di dedicare maggiore tempo e presenza alla mia famiglia e ad alcune esigenze personali che, in questa fase della mia vita, richiedono la mia attenzione.

In questi tre anni abbiamo affrontato difficoltà oggettive, a partire dalla grave situazione del bilancio, dal rischio chiusura del mercato dei fiori dove abbiamo investito 13 milioni di euro per il futuro della struttura e del Comune, dalla complessa carenza di personale, dai progetti non interamente coperti con le dovute risorse, ai quali si è aggiunta l’inesperienza iniziale di parte della squadra amministrativa. Nonostante questo, abbiamo sempre lavorato mettendo al primo posto l’interesse della città, evitando il default del Comune, anche quando ciò significava rinunciare al consenso. Ringrazio il Sindaco per la fiducia che mi ha accordato, assegnandomi deleghe importanti e complesse e tutte le persone con le quali ho avuto modo di lavorare in questi anni: colleghi di giunta, consiglieri comunali di maggioranza per il lavoro svolto insieme e consiglieri di minoranza dove nonostante momenti di scontro politico non è mai venuto meno il rispetto, associazioni, volontari, professionisti e cittadini.

Mi sia consentita una menzione particolare per i consiglieri comunali appartenenti al mio gruppo del Partito Democratico. Anche a loro vanno le mie scuse per “abbandonarli” in questa fase, interrompendo il percorso di crescita di un ottimo gruppo.

Chiedo scusa ai 121 pesciatini che mi hanno dato fiducia nel 2023: chi mi conosce sa che l’unico obiettivo era portare a termine il lavoro iniziato, ma questo non può essere possibile a qualsiasi costo.

Ringrazio sinceramente i dipendenti comunali per questo percorso condiviso, un percorso dove non sono mancati momenti di scontro, ma dove sono comunque arrivati dei risultati rispetto alle promesse delle passate amministrazioni.

XUZHOU, China, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — XCMG, a global construction machinery manufacturer, launched the Hanjing, its next-generation new energy heavy truck on Sept. 20. Designed for long-haul, cross-regional freight, the truck addresses key priorities for logistics operators, including range, charging speed, uptime and lifecycle operating efficiency. 

XCMG began developing the Hanjing in 2023, visiting major freight hubs and working with large logistics companies to identify requirements for range, charging, efficiency and reliability. XCMG engineers then focused on the electric powertrain, centralized thermal management, torque distribution and regenerative braking to optimize the truck for real-world long-haul operations. 

The Hanjing features a low-drag cab, a proprietary integrated electric drive axle and intelligent controls designed to reduce energy consumption. Its 800-volt architecture supports megawatt-class fast charging, taking the battery from 20% to 80% in under 20 minutes. The Hanjing combines a body constructed with 1,500-MPa hot-stamped steel with multiple battery thermal-protection systems to enhance vehicle and battery safety. A central domain controller, highway navigation-assisted driving and a digital cockpit support drivers on long-haul routes. 

Before launch, the Hanjing underwent extreme-heat, extreme-cold, high-altitude, water-fording and crash testing. It also completed a 24-hour endurance test at the Yancheng proving ground, covering 2,198 kilometers at a fully loaded gross vehicle weight of 49 tons and demonstrating its performance under demanding long-haul, heavy-load operating conditions. 

XCMG also provides charging infrastructure, connected fleet management and lifecycle services, giving operators an integrated system for managing vehicles, charging and day-to-day operations. Its connected-vehicle platform allows fleet operators to monitor vehicle status and energy consumption and plan vehicle selection and charging around their routes. 

From January through July 2026, XCMG ranked first in China in sales of both new energy heavy trucks and new energy tractors. SHANGHAI, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — In a keynote speech on computing architecture innovation at HUAWEI CONNECT 2026, Yang Chaobin, Huawei’s Executive Director of the Board and CEO of the ICT Business Group, unveiled new details about the UnifiedBus interconnect architecture, announced a series of computing products based on this architecture, and explained how the company has collaborated with open-source communities to enable application innovation by customers, partners, and developers. 

In a traditional computing architecture, resource utilization declines as a cluster scales. As little as 20% of a 100,000-NPU cluster’s computing capacity is actually utilized by models, with a vast amount of compute sitting idle during data communications. A 10 trillion-parameter model, which requires massive amounts of intermediate data to train, far exceeds the capacity of the memory on a single accelerator under traditional architectures. Interconnection and communications between components within a cluster have become a key performance bottleneck for computing systems. 

According to Yang, Huawei’s solution to this bottleneck is its new computing architecture, powered by the interconnect technology called UnifiedBus, which facilitates collaboration between clusters and SuperPoDs. This architecture has been designed to support the boom in compute demand that is emerging as new agentic applications hit the market. UnifiedBus-powered computing systems have four key features: 

Yang then moved on to unveil Huawei’s newest UnifiedBus interconnect products that cover interconnection within cabinets, between cabinets, and across clusters. This enables elastic scaling from a single cabinet to a million-NPU cluster. 

Yang also launched Huawei’s UnifiedBus-powered agentic AI SuperCluster, which is comprised of TaiShan 950 and Atlas 960 SuperPoDs, OceanStor M900 memory storage, and a Xinghe UBG switch. This cluster enables diverse compute collaboration and tiered resource pooling. 

Beyond SuperPoDs, Huawei has also applied the UnifiedBus technology to its compute appliances. The company has developed a new series of UnifiedBus-based appliances (supporting one to eight NPUs) and Kunpeng and Ascend modules, which enable small and medium-sized enterprises to run trillion-parameter models locally. 

On the ecosystem front, Yang said that Ascend is collaborating with open-source frameworks like DeepSeek Harness, OpenCode, and openJiuwen to develop fully open-source intelligent management, inference acceleration, and security framework agent plugins.

New results from the SirPAD randomized trial will be presented at VIVA 2026, October 3–6 at Bellagio Las Vegas, focusing on patients with femoropopliteal peripheral artery disease causing intermittent claudication. 

LAS VEGAS, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — SirPAD randomized 1,252 patients with symptomatic infrainguinal PAD to angioplasty with a MagicTouch sirolimus-coated balloon (Concept Medical) or an uncoated balloon. The main trial, recently published in the New England Journal of Medicine, demonstrated a significant reduction in major adverse limb events with MagicTouch angioplasty at one year. The new analysis of 597 patients treated for femoropopliteal disease without tissue loss will inform on a clinically important population, in whom the goals of revascularization extend beyond limb preservation to include durable symptom relief.
