Quest’anno il Comune potrà contare su oltre 500 mila euro. Inizialmente erano stati stanziati 245 mila euro dal bilancio comunale, ai quali si erano aggiunti 57.223 euro assegnati dalla Regione Toscana, per un totale di 302.223 euro. Con l’ultima variazione di bilancio, approvata dal Consiglio comunale il 27 luglio, il Comune ha però incrementato le proprie risorse di altri 200 mila euro.

L’aumento dello stanziamento permette di dare una risposta, anche se parziale, alle famiglie che hanno presentato una domanda ammessa al contributo, garantendo un sostegno più consistente rispetto a quello inizialmente previsto.

“La priorità della nostra Amministrazione è non lasciare indietro nessuno, a partire dalle persone e dalle famiglie più vulnerabili – commenta il sindaco Giovanni Capecchi. L’emergenza abitativa e le difficoltà nel sostenere il costo degli affitti sono problemi reali che toccano da vicino la vita di tante persone nella nostra città. Di fronte all’azzeramento dei contributi per l’affitto da parte del governo nazionale, abbiamo scelto di intervenire, stanziando 200 mila euro di risorse comunali. Non è solo un atto amministrativo, ma una scelta di indirizzo precisa: utilizzare le risorse pubbliche per garantire risposte concrete ai bisogni primari della nostra comunità e tutelare il diritto alla casa.

Il contributo sarà destinato sia alle famiglie inserite nella fascia A, che comprende i nuclei con le condizioni economiche più svantaggiate, sia a quelle della fascia B. Sarà comunque mantenuta una priorità per le situazioni di maggiore difficoltà: alle famiglie in fascia A sarà riconosciuto un contributo più elevato.

Nel dettaglio, le domande ammesse sono 296 in fascia A e 94 in fascia B. Secondo le proiezioni, poco più del 90% delle risorse disponibili sarà destinato alle famiglie della fascia A, mentre circa il 9% andrà a quelle della fascia B. Come stabilito nel giugno 2025 da una delibera di giunta regionale, non saranno erogati contributi di importo inferiore a 200 euro.

Essere riusciti a dare un contributo così importante a quasi 400 famiglie della nostra città è motivo di soddisfazione e rappresenta un segnale concreto dell’attenzione che questa amministrazione vuole riservare a chi si trova ad affrontare una situazione di difficoltà. Per stabilire l’importo spettante a ciascun nucleo sarà applicata una percentuale al contributo teorico previsto. La percentuale varierà in base al punteggio ottenuto nella graduatoria e sarà determinata in relazione alle risorse complessivamente disponibili, così da distribuire i fondi secondo criteri di priorità ed equità.

Una parte delle risorse comunali aggiuntive si è resa necessaria anche perché dal 2023 il Fondo nazionale per il sostegno all’accesso alle abitazioni in locazione non viene più finanziato.

Venerdì 21 agosto torna la sezione “Dal libro al film, tratto da… Agatha Christie”, con Assassinio sull’Orient Express di Kenneth Branagh, che ne è anche interprete insieme a Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench e Johnny Depp. Il film, drammatico, dura 114 minuti ed è stato prodotto negli Stati Uniti nel 2017.

Through these rigorous efforts, the digital rendering of Gallipoli within the game is designed to establish a robust connection with the actual geography and tangible historical heritage.

FRANKFURT AM MAIN, Germany, Aug. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — CVC DIF, the infrastructure business of global private markets manager CVC, has agreed to acquire a significant majority stake in firstcolo GmbH. The investment will be made through CVC DIF Value Add IV. CUBE Infrastructure is the seller. Completion of the transaction is expected by the end of September 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. 

Founded in 2007, firstcolo is an established data centre and digital infrastructure partner in the Frankfurt metropolitan region. The company operates two data centres in the region and serves more than 350 customers with colocation, dedicated hardware, cloud, connectivity and managed services. Its business model combines highly available, certified infrastructure with direct technical support and personal points of contact. 

The partnership with CVC DIF provides the foundation for firstcolo to implement its next phase of growth. The initial focus is the FRA7 greenfield project in Rosbach vor der Höhe, within the Frankfurt metropolitan region. The facility will provide up to 24 MW of total capacity, equivalent to up to 16 MW of IT load, and is designed to support demanding artificial intelligence, high-performance computing and cloud workloads. 

FRA7 is being planned as an AI-ready data centre from the outset. The infrastructure is designed for liquid-cooled high-density racks supporting up to 200 kW per rack. Advanced liquid cooling, robust power infrastructure, a scalable design and high-performance connectivity will provide the technical foundation for compute-intensive GPU clusters, AI training and inference workloads, as well as other high-performance applications. firstcolo is also targeting a PUE of below 1.2 for the site. 

The site, power supply, permits and delivery through a turnkey construction model have already been secured. firstcolo has also entered into a partnership with regional energy provider OVAG, which will secure the site’s energy supply and enable the use of data centre waste heat in regional district heating networks. 

FRA7 will provide an important foundation for the continued development of firstcolo’s high-performance data centre platform. The project is expected to strengthen the company’s capabilities in delivering AI-ready, energy-efficient infrastructure and to inform the development of potential future sites in the Frankfurt region and other attractive German markets. Over time, firstcolo aims to scale its platform in line with customer demand and market opportunities.

La Regione Toscana ha stanziato un fondo di 9,3 milioni di euro per finanziare percorsi di formazione professionale mirati a facilitare l’inserimento lavorativo nei settori chiave dell’economia locale. La misura, supportata dalle risorse europee del programma Fse+ 2021-2027, si articola in undici avvisi pubblici e si rivolge a persone disoccupate, soggetti inattivi e lavoratori in cassa integrazione straordinaria (Cigs) con una riduzione dell’orario pari o superiore al 50%.

L’iniziativa punta a colmare la distanza tra le competenze possedute da chi cerca impiego e le reali necessità delle aziende, riducendo quel disallineamento noto agli addetti ai lavori come ‘skills mismatch’. I corsi riguarderanno gli ambiti produttivi considerati più strategici per il territorio, tra cui artigianato, moda, metallurgia, meccanica, turismo e trasporti. L’individuazione di questi comparti deriva da uno studio dell’Irpet, che ha valutato la capacità di generare nuova occupazione, la qualità delle posizioni lavorative e i livelli di competitività.

Un’attenzione specifica è riservata alle grandi trasformazioni del mercato. I percorsi formativi accompagneranno i partecipanti anche verso la transizione digitale ed ecologica, abbracciando comparti in espansione come la ‘green’ e la ‘blue economy’ e stimolando l’aggiornamento tecnologico.

Climbers including Jon Otto, Li Zongli, Liu Junfu, Zhou Song, Zhang Qingwei “Yeren”, and Alan Rousseau gathered to reflect on two decades of mountain exploration, route development and the evolution of Chinese climbing. 

Launched in 2006, the KAILAS Mountain Adventure Project has supported Chinese climbers in exploring unclimbed peaks, developing new routes and documenting first-hand mountain experience. Over the past 20 years, the project has witnessed the progression of Chinese climbing — from learning and following established routes to creating new lines and exploring unknown terrain. 

Yaomei Peak, the highest peak of Mt. Siguniang, served as a key thread throughout the event. From earlier landmark ascents to newly developed routes, Yaomei Peak reflects how different generations of climbers have continued to search for new possibilities on the same mountain. 

During the sharing session, the climbers discussed route development, technical progression, teamwork and the mindset behind exploration. Zhou Song and Zhang Qingwei shared insights from their 2024 ascent of the north face of Yaomei Peak and the development of the new route “Wu”. Alan Rousseau, an IFMGA-certified mountain guide and two-time Piolet d’Or winner, offered an international perspective on China’s climbing potential and the value of exchange within the global climbing community. 

The event also marked the launch of the Mountain Adventure Project website, which brings together mountain and route information, expedition stories, project updates and climbers’ experiences accumulated over two decades. By organizing and sharing these resources, the platform aims to make exploration knowledge more accessible and support information exchange among climbers worldwide.

Cryocatheter system offers portability, versatility 

The system’s portable design does not require an electric source or large CO2 tanks to operate, expanding access to cryobiopsy and cryoextraction into multiple care settings throughout the hospital such as bronchoscopy suites, ICUs, operating rooms and emergency departments. 

Cryotechnology has become an important tool in interventional pulmonology and thoracic endoscopy, supporting both tissue acquisition and therapeutic airway interventions. Clinical applications may include transbronchial cryobiopsy for tissue acquisition, cryoextraction of foreign bodies, blood clots, and mucus plugs, as well as endobronchial tumor debulking and airway recanalization procedures.

SEATTLE, Aug. 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — A new report from Nia Tero — an international non-profit focused on strengthening Indigenous Peoples’ guardianship of ancestral lands and waters — examines how fragmentation across the Rio Conventions limits Indigenous Peoples’ meaningful influence in global environmental decision-making. 

The report, “Beyond Fragmentation: Advancing Coherence, Equity, and Indigenous Leadership Across the Rio Conventions,” will formally launch at the 17th Conference of the Parties to the U.N. Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), taking place from August 17 to 28 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, at a side event focused on strengthening coherence across the Rio Conventions. 

The three Rio Conventions — the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) — emerged from the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. 

They are the main global frameworks addressing biodiversity loss, climate change, and land degradation, environmental crises that Indigenous Peoples have long perceived as interconnected. 

“For Indigenous Peoples, climate change, biodiversity loss, and land degradation are deeply connected and result from an imbalanced relationship between people and the earth. However, the three Rio Conventions address these issues separately, making it harder for Indigenous representatives to participate in meaningful ways,” said Minnie Degawan (Kankanaey-Igorot, Philippines), Indigenous policy expert and author of the report.

Questa è la conferma che l’iniziativa del cinema all’aperto andava fatta e siamo felici, come amministrazione comunale, di averla garantita alla città di Pistoia in un periodo estivo in cui molti sono ancora qui. È giusto che ci sia questa iniziativa culturale a disposizione dei cittadini.

Stiamo già pensando al programma e al progetto per il 2027: vogliamo realizzare il ‘Cinema sotto le stelle’ alla Fortezza, ci proveremo e ci riusciremo! Inoltre, vogliamo realizzarlo anche in maniera diffusa su tutto il nostro territorio.

L’agenzia regionale per le erogazioni in agricoltura (Artea) ha autorizzato pagamenti per oltre 60 milioni di euro a favore di più di 21.200 aziende agricole toscane. Si tratta di un anticipo sui contributi previsti dalla Politica Agricola Comune (PAC) per la campagna 2026.

L’erogazione della somma, che ammonta con precisione a 60.982.524,85 euro, è stata resa possibile dall’applicazione di una deroga comunitaria. Il regolamento europeo in materia consente infatti di innalzare le quote degli anticipi al 75% per gli aiuti diretti alle imprese e fino all’85% per i fondi di sviluppo rurale, destinati al finanziamento degli investimenti. I fondi immessi nel sistema economico regionale rappresentano circa il 40% delle risorse complessive previste per l’intera campagna, che in Toscana si aggirano mediamente intorno ai 156 milioni di euro.

La procedura ha permesso di anticipare i tempi di accredito, solitamente programmati per la metà del mese di ottobre. I pagamenti, che arriveranno in modo diretto sui conti correnti delle aziende agricole, proseguiranno gradualmente fino al prossimo 30 novembre, parallelamente allo svolgimento dei controlli tecnici previsti dalle normative di settore.

L’obiettivo della Regione è immettere rapidamente liquidità nel comparto per sostenere le imprese di fronte ai rincari energetici, ai cambiamenti climatici e alle conseguenze delle tensioni internazionali. Il presidente della Regione, Eugenio Giani, ha inquadrato la misura spiegando la volontà di sfruttare la flessibilità concessa dall’Unione Europea: “Garantire liquidità immediata alle nostre imprese agricole in piena estate, superando i tradizionali vincoli temporali burocratici, significa difendere le nostre eccellenze, preservare i posti di lavoro e tutelare l’identità stessa dei nostri territori”.

Sul peso economico dell’operazione è intervenuto anche l’assessore all’agricoltura, Leonardo Marras, che ha ricordato il ruolo del settore agricolo sul fronte dell’occupazione e della tutela ambientale. “Accelerare questi flussi finanziari significa dare stabilità economica e certezza operativa a più di 21mila imprese, permettendo loro di programmare gli investimenti e resistere alle fluttuazioni dei costi di produzione”, ha dichiarato Marras.

Un focus specifico riguarda i nuovi imprenditori del settore. Come evidenziato dal sottosegretario alla presidenza Bernard Dika, i giovani agricoltori sono spesso la categoria più esposta alle carenze di liquidità durante i primi anni di attività. “Sapere che i sostegni della Domanda Unica e i premi complementari arrivano in anticipo”, ha commentato Dika, “rappresenta per le nuove generazioni un incentivo reale a non mollare e a continuare a scommettere sul proprio futuro”.

Nell’ambito dei servizi dedicati alla prevenzione e al contrasto dei reati contro il patrimonio, i carabinieri della stazione di Ponte Buggianese hanno proceduto all’arresto di una donna di 49 anni con l’accusa di rapina.

L’episodio si inserisce nel quadro del costante monitoraggio delle aree commerciali a maggiore affluenza, un’attività che l’Arma persegue per garantire la tutela degli esercizi e la sicurezza della cittadinanza.

I fatti si sono verificati nel pomeriggio dello scorso 10 agosto all’interno del supermercato Esselunga di Pescia. La donna, senza fissa dimora e con precedenti a carico, si è introdotta nel reparto enoteca dell’esercizio. Dopo aver prelevato dagli scaffali diverse bottiglie di superalcolici, per un valore complessivo stimato intorno ai 300 euro, le ha occultate all’interno di un bagaglio personale con l’intento di oltrepassare le casse senza provvedere al pagamento.

I movimenti sono stati rilevati dall’impianto di videosorveglianza del punto vendita e notati dal personale addetto alla vigilanza. L’operatore di sicurezza è intervenuto per fermare la persona la quale, nel tentativo di assicurarsi la fuga, ha opposto resistenza strattonandolo e colpendolo ripetutamente. La tempestiva chiamata al 112, ha permesso il celere arrivo di una pattuglia della Stazione di Ponte Buggianese, inviata immediatamente dalla centrale operativa di Pistoia, contenendo sensibilmente i tempi in cui l’addetto alla sicurezza si era trovato a trattenere l’indagata da solo.

I militari hanno, quindi, messo in condizioni sicurezza lo scenario, preso in custodia la quarantanovenne e recuperato l’intera refurtiva, contestualmente restituita ai responsabili del punto vendita. Al termine delle formalità di rito, la donna è stata trattenuta nelle camere di sicurezza della compagnia di Montecatini Terme.

Il giorno dopo il tribunale di Pistoia ha convalidato l’arresto, disponendo nei confronti dell’indagata la misura cautelare della custodia in carcere. La donna è stata conseguentemente trasferita al carcere di Firenze Sollicciano, a disposizione dell’autorità gGiudiziaria.

Nel fine settimana di Ferragosto, i Musei Civici saranno aperti al pubblico dalle 10 alle 18. Nei giorni di sabato 15 e domenica 16 agosto sarà quindi possibile visitare il Museo Civico d’arte antica in Palazzo Comunale, dove è in corso il progetto espositivo Due ritratti pistoiesi di Giovanni da San Giovanni (fino al 27 settembre); il Museo dello Spedale del Ceppo; il Museo del Novecento e Contemporaneo di Palazzo Fabroni, con il progetto espositivo Marino Marini: la pittura (fino al 27 settembre). Negli stessi giorni sarà visitabile, inoltre, con ingresso gratuito dalle 10 alle 18, anche l’ex chiesa di San Jacopo in Castellare, fino a un massimo di 50 persone contemporaneamente presenti.

Nel mese di agosto i Musei Civici osservano il seguente orario di apertura: dal martedì al venerdì, dalle 10 alle 14; sabato e domenica dalle 10 alle 18; lunedì 24 agosto (festa di San Bartolomeo) dalle 10 alle 13; lunedì chiuso.

Fondazione Pistoia Musei

Per Ferragosto le sedi di Fondazione Pistoia Musei resteranno regolarmente aperte con orario continuato. Sarà possibile visitare il Museo dell’Antico Palazzo dei Vescovi, il Museo di San Salvatore e Palazzo de’ Rossi | Collezioni del Novecento dalle 10 alle 19.

Aperture chiese

Il 15 agosto sarà possibile visitare alcune delle principali chiese del centro storico, occasione per scoprire anche alcuni dei luoghi più significativi del patrimonio storico e artistico cittadino. In piazza del Duomo, la Cattedrale di San Zeno sarà aperta dalle 9 alle 12 e dalle 16 alle 18.30, mentre il Battistero di San Giovanni in Corte sarà visitabile dalle 10 alle 17.30, come previsto per le giornate di venerdì, sabato e domenica.

Regolare l’apertura della chiesa di San Paolo, dalle 7 alle 19, e della Basilica della Madonna, dalle 8.30 alle 18 tutta la settimana. San Giovanni Fuorcivitas, normalmente aperta il lunedì, martedì, giovedì, venerdì, sabato e domenica dalle 10 alle 13 e dalle 16 alle 19 e il mercoledì dalle 10 alle 13, farà invece un’eccezione in occasione di Ferragosto e resterà chiusa.

La Chiesa di Sant’Andrea rimarrà aperta dalle 9.30 alle 18.

Fortezza Santa Barbara

Significativo esempio di architettura militare del Cinquecento, la Fortezza Santa Barbara di Pistoia sarà regolarmente visitabile sabato 15 agosto in orario 8.30-13.30, con ingresso gratuito.
