Il calendario proposto dal Centro Affidi della Società della Salute Pistoiese, in collaborazione con il Centro per le Famiglie del Comune di Pistoia offre occasioni diverse, accomunate dall’attenzione alle relazioni e alla possibilità di creare occasioni di incontro. Si parte sabato 3 ottobre, dalle 16.30 alle 18, alla Casa in Piazzetta, in piazzetta Santo Stefano 13, con “In compagnia”. Un pomeriggio pensato per genitori, bambine e bambini dai 4 ai 10 anni, durante il quale i giochi da tavolo diventano uno strumento per stare insieme e riflettere sulla cura dei legami e sulla vicinanza solidale. L’appuntamento è gratuito e su prenotazione.

Il secondo appuntamento porta invece il tema dell’affido sul palcoscenico. Giovedì 15 ottobre alle 21, al Teatro Bolognini, sarà proposto “Figli d’anima”, spettacolo teatrale prodotto da Tedacà, in collaborazione con il Festival delle Colline Torinesi e con il sostegno di Casa Affido della città di Torino. Anche in questo caso la partecipazione è gratuita, previa prenotazione sul sito Eventbrite.

Per chi vuole capire concretamente che cosa significhi intraprendere un percorso di affido, l’appuntamento centrale del mese sarà giovedì 22 ottobre, dalle 17.30 alle 19, al Centro Affidi di Pistoia, in via G. Gentile 479. “Porte aperte – E se l’affido facesse per te? Vieni a scoprirlo!” è pensato come un momento diretto di conoscenza: gli operatori e le operatrici del Centro saranno a disposizione per rispondere a domande e curiosità. Un’occasione, quindi, per avvicinarsi al tema e ottenere informazioni direttamente da chi si occupa del percorso.

A chiudere il programma sarà sabato 31 ottobre, dalle 15.45 alle 18, il “Cinema in famiglia” al Polo Puccini Gatteschi, in vicolo del Malconsiglio 7. Il cinema sarà utilizzato come strumento per esplorare tematiche relazionali, con un appuntamento rivolto alle famiglie con bambine e bambini dai 5 ai 12 anni. Anche questa iniziativa è gratuita e su prenotazione.

Il programma, dunque, alterna momenti più informali e rivolti alla partecipazione delle famiglie ad appuntamenti specificamente dedicati alla conoscenza dell’affido. Un percorso che mette al centro i legami, offrendo occasioni diverse per parlarne e, per chi è interessato, per scoprire più da vicino questa possibilità.

Il Centro Affidi della Società della Salute Pistoiese opera da anni sul territorio pistoiese e attua percorsi di conoscenza di famiglie, coppie o singoli, interessati all´affido e gestisce, una banca dati di famiglie disponibili ad occuparsi di bambini e ragazzi che necessitano di un supporto a causa di fragilità, o momenti di difficoltà della propria famiglia di origine.

Oltre all’affidamento familiare, che può essere residenziale o part-time, esistono e si stanno diffondendo anche nuove forme di vicinanza solidale nelle quali coppie o single mettono a disposizione parte del loro tempo per affiancare bambini, ragazzi e famiglie in difficoltà in alcuni momenti della loro vita quotidiana.

(“PPL”) (NSE: PPLPHARMA) (BSE: 543635), e il suo partner NP2, produttore senza scopo di lucro di farmaci generici, hanno annunciato oggi l’intenzione di completare a ottobre la fase di sviluppo della ciclofosfamide, un farmaco oncologico generico.  

La ciclofosfamide, farmaco oncologico generico iniettabile sterile ampiamente prescritto, è utilizzata per trattare diversi tumori, tra cui il tumore al seno e il retinoblastoma, un tumore oculare che colpisce i bambini piccoli. 

“Il passaggio alla fase di produzione rappresenta un entusiasmante passo avanti nella missione di NP2 di garantire, proprio qui negli Stati Uniti, una fornitura costante di ciclofosfamide, un farmaco antitumorale salvavita”, ha dichiarato Telly Athanasopoulos, responsabile della produzione di NP2. “L’annuncio di oggi è una buona notizia per i pazienti oncologici e i loro medici, che hanno bisogno di una fornitura sicura e affidabile di ciclofosfamide a prezzi stabili”. 

Secondo un sondaggio condotto alla fine di agosto tra le strutture aderenti al National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), il 100% degli intervistati registra una carenza di almeno un farmaco antitumorale e oltre il 20% dei centri deve attualmente far fronte alla carenza di cinque o più farmaci oncologici. Tra questi figura la ciclofosfamide, attualmente disponibile in quantità limitate nell’UE e in Canada. I due principali produttori di ciclofosfamide, entrambi con sede all’estero, rappresentano il 92% delle vendite negli Stati Uniti e uno copre attualmente quasi il 70% del mercato statunitense delle soluzioni pronte all’uso da 200 mg., secondo i dati sulle vendite IQVIA relativi al secondo trimestre. 

Per affrontare il problema, NP2 ha condotto lo sviluppo di farmaci a base di ciclofosfamide presso il sito di Lexington di PPS, dove il farmaco verrà anche prodotto, accorciando e semplificando la catena di approvvigionamento tra l’impianto di produzione e i pazienti oncologici negli Stati Uniti. Il sito di Lexington è attualmente interessato da un ampliamento da 85 milioni di dollari volto ad aumentare la capacità produttiva di farmaci come la ciclofosfamide.

A compact storage solution complete with factory-assembled inverter for small C&I sites lands in Europe, giving installers a plug-and-play alternative to custom-built systems. 

LYON, France, Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — TCL SunPower, a global leader in solar energy solutions, today confirmed that its TCL X5 industrial hybrid energy storage system is now available for order throughout Europe. The launch expands TCL SunPower’s offering beyond solar generation and residential storage, enabling distributors and installers to deliver integrated solar-plus-storage solutions for commercial and industrial customers. 

X5 is designed to simplify commercial battery installations by integrating the 50kW hybrid inverter directly inside the cabinet. Unlike many commercial storage systems that require the inverter to be transported, mounted and wired on site, X5 arrives as a factory-assembled and pre-wired solution, reducing installation complexity and minimizing on-site work. TCL estimates this approach can reduce last-mile transport and installation costs by up to 60% compared with systems assembled on site.

X5 addresses a specific market need: sites too small to justify a custom-engineered battery system, but too demanding for a residential-scale solution. It flexes easily to accommodate a wide range of applications, supporting on-grid, off-grid, and microgrid operation, with islanding in less than 20 milliseconds and black-start capability without any grid or PV connection. The system also accepts generator input up to 138 kVA. 

The base unit is rated at 50kWh/100kWh and scales to 400kWh by connecting up to four units in parallel. This allows sites to start with a single cabinet and expand capacity as energy demand grows, without replacing the system. The cabinet is designed to fit where larger systems often cannot. Measuring 1.90 meters tall, with a footprint of just 1.37 square meters and a weight of 1,200 kg, X5 combines a compact footprint with scalable capacity. The system is rated IP66 for the inverter and IP55 for the cabinet and operates in temperatures from -30°C to 50°C, making it suitable for rooftop, outdoor and industrial applications. 

Safety and system management are built into the platform. Three layers of monitoring across the cabinet, battery pack, and individual cells support fire suppression, gas detection, and arc-fault interruption. The system is managed through TCL’s EMS controller and web/app interface, is VPP-ready, and complies with GDPR and ETSI EN303645 cybersecurity requirements for connected devices. 

Early deployments are already demonstrating the system’s flexibility in real-world applications. In Spain, installer Electricidad EUFON used TCL X5 to convert an existing off-grid solar water-pumping system, originally installed in 2015 without battery storage, into a hybrid system without expanding the site’s solar array.

ADVENT sta valutando il sistema di stimolazione cerebrale profonda adattiva αDBS® di Newronika in persone affette da malattia di Parkinson che sono state indirizzate alla stimolazione cerebrale profonda bilaterale del nucleo subtalamico.

ADVENT, registrato su ClinicalTrials.gov con il numero NCT06891781, è uno studio crossover prospettico, multicentrico, randomizzato e in doppio cieco che confronta la sicurezza e l’efficacia della stimolazione cerebrale profonda adattiva e convenzionale erogata dal sistema αDBS® di Newronika. 

Lo studio prevede l’iscrizione di 104 adulti affetti da Parkinson idiopatico che sono stati sottoposti a stimolazione cerebrale profonda bilaterale del nucleo subtalamico. Si prevede che parteciperanno fino a 18 centri clinici specializzati negli Stati Uniti e nell’Unione europea. 

Poiché ADVENT utilizza un design crossover, ogni partecipante sperimenta sia le modalità convenzionali che quelle adattive di stimolazione in un ordine assegnato casualmente. I partecipanti e i medici che valutano i loro risultati rimangono all’oscuro della modalità attiva durante i periodi di studio comparativo. 

Newronika ha ottenuto l’approvazione della FDA per un’esenzione per dispositivi sperimentali, che consentirà all’azienda di avviare in futuro lo studio cardine ADVENT. Lo studio ha lo scopo di supportare una futura richiesta di autorizzazione all’immissione in commercio (Pre-market Approval) per il sistema DBS di Newronika negli Stati Uniti.

The Travel Readiness Index measures the share of applications that needed no correction at caseworker review. It is based on more than 10,000 anonymized applications for the UK ETA, US ESTA, Canada eTA, New Zealand NZeTA and Australia ETA, submitted between January 1 and September 1, 2026. 

What are the most common travel authorization mistakes?Passport details (number, issue or expiry date) accounted for 31% of corrections, followed by name order and middle names (19%), confusion between nationality and passport issuing country (13%), and date-of-birth format (9%). 

These details matter because each authorization is linked electronically to a specific passport. On the US ESTA system, an error in passport or biographical information requires a new application and a new fee.

SHANGHAI, CHINA – Media OutReach Newswire – 30 September 2026 – During HUAWEI CONNECT on September 17, 2026, Eric Xu (Huawei’s Rotating Chairman) and Dr. Liao Heng (Chief Scientist of HiSilicon) had a Q&A session with journalists of media outlets to discuss Huawei’s Peerium Computing Architecture for the AI era as well as UnifiedBus (UB).
 

At last year’s HUAWEI CONNECT, Eric Xu gave a keynote speech and released Ascend chips and their roadmap (including the 950, 960, 970, and SuperPoDs and SuperClusters). He also announced the open release of the UnifiedBus protocol. 

At this year’s HUAWEI CONNECT, Huawei announced the Ascend 950 and the Atlas 950 SuperPoD. While the industry is talking about SuperPoDs or supernodes, the ways of making these products differ hugely. The key of SuperPoDs is about allowing several thousand or even tens of thousands of processors to work as one computer. 

Today, Huawei announced a SuperPoD based on the Ascend 950 chip. The SuperPoD is powered by a new computing architecture that Huawei has pioneered. This architecture now can make one million processors work as one computer. This architecture is called Peerium, and it can achieve strong scaling to the million-processor level through nested parallelism, unified memory addressing, and peer-to-peer interconnect. It extends the parallelism paradigm of Turing with the introduction of Nested BSP (Nested Bulk Synchronous Parallel). 

This architecture also extends the von Neumann single-machine architecture and overruns the master-slave design paradigm that has prevailed for decades. Given that the available technologies in the industry could not support this architecture, Huawei invented a key interconnect technology – UnifiedBus. Ultimately, one million processors can truly work as one larger computer. 

UnifiedBus is a high-speed bus that uses an open protocol to scale without a limit to connect CPUs, NPUs, memory, SSDs, interface cards, and switches. With UnifiedBus, peer-to-peer interconnect is achieved across compute, storage, and networking. This fundamentally overruns the traditional master-slave architecture. 

The Atlas 950 SuperPoD is a product built upon the Peerium Computing Architecture. A SuperCluster with 256,000 computing cards is currently being deployed and tested. 

Q: Dr. Liao, your paper mentioned a SuperPoD that’s made up of 256,000 cards. Is that the upper limit of your technology? Can you tell us more about market demand for your products?
 

Liao Heng: 256,000 or roughly 200k, this number is not an arbitrary number. 

First of all, the purpose of these large clusters is for training. It has a hardware infrastructure that can support the training of foundation models, which today are already in the 5T parameter range. 

Over the next two years, there will be roughly 6 or 7 frontier AI labs in China, and all will aim at training foundation language models of sizes ranging from 10 to 40 trillion parameters. These numbers kind of match up to the memory capacity and the size of the SuperPoD. So you need such a scale of infrastructure to train these models. 

The second thing is that in China, most data centers have a national plan on this power grid. So 200,000 is a relatively conservative number, given the design of the power delivery system in a single autonomous zone and single data center campus. 

As I said, everybody must be quite familiar with the AI model race that’s happening across the globe. And in China, there are at least 3 or 4 tier-1 players that are already well recognized and have achieved tier-1 status. 

Q: What are your plans to encourage Chinese model providers to use Ascend chips for training?
 

Eric Xu: For the Ascend 950, we first launched the 950PR to the market. It’s primarily used for AI inference, and currently the total volume of supply available in the market is not very big. The SuperPoDs based upon the Ascend 950DT are mainly used for AI training. Right now, they are under testing, and their large-scale supply will start at the end of this year or early next year. We are having extensive dialogues and discussions with AI model providers. The testing result of using the Ascend 950DT for training is pretty good. I believe that starting from next year, a lot of AI model training will be based upon SuperPoDs that use the Ascend 950DT. I think at the end of the day, it’s not about how hard we are going to push model providers, but about how much supply capacity we will have. We can only supply based on how much that’s produced. And we hope the value chain will expand its capacity faster to increase supply. 

Q: What is Huawei’s take on recent calls by leading AI model providers in the US to slow down AI development?
 

Eric Xu: We need to look at the level and cadence of AI development in China and the US. AI models in China are largely open-source models and their progress is relatively transparent. If we look at the mainstream model providers in the US, they have more computing power, so maybe only they themselves know where they are in terms of the level of sophistication of their models. The market feeling about AI risks might be weaker in China than in the US. Model providers in China need to speed up their pace to reach a level where they could also feel the risks from AI development. And then, maybe they will feel the same as the leading US model providers. But I always believe that we need to strike a balance between driving AI development and managing AI risks. At the very least, the bottom line is we need to ensure AI for good, not AI for evil. 

Q: Does Huawei have plans to bring the Atlas 950 SuperPoD to other markets outside China? If yes, which markets are you going to target? Can you share with us data about your market share in China? What is your take on China’s push for chip self-sufficiency?
 

Eric Xu: Since we don’t have enough capacity to even satisfy the demand in China, we don’t have plans to expand to the international market in a fully-fledged way. But indeed, there are several countries that have very strong demand. We are doing some testing, and we are providing some supply to those countries, but the volume is quite limited. 

Right now, it’s pretty hard to collect data about the market share of NVIDIA in China. But based on the data we have collected, Ascend has surpassed NVIDIA. 

China’s push for chip self-sufficiency is an inevitable path forward. China is a country of 1.4 billion people and it’s an industrial powerhouse, so the way people work and live is closely tied to chips. Chinese people have a keen sense of urgency, and will not accept a future in which others decide whether or not we can have access to certain products. Even though our chips may be less advanced, at least their supply is assured, so that you don’t have to worry about chip supply day in and day out. I think that’s certainly the path forward. For the Chinese government, for the domestic industry, and for Huawei, the path forward is undoubtedly to push for full self-sufficiency in terms of chips and the entire semiconductor value chain. We also believe this will become a reality sooner or later.
